Using Replication Server for ASA 9.0.1 to ASA 9.0.1 replication
We are an ASA 9.0.1 shop running on Windows XP. We host
several of our clients and want to implement a warm standby
server for recovery. We've looked into Mobilink and Remote
server within ASA and don't like them.
I read that Replication Server will support ASA, is what
I've described doable? If so, is there a cook book?
...Replication is not replicating
The new database is added to the replication system but all
tables on the RDB are empty. Setreptable is on and there's
no uncommitted transaction. It is using default action
class and there's no loss detection. Queue is caught up.
We turned on "dsi_buf_dump" and it shows on the error log
that the transaction executed on the PDB is replicated.
However, the table is again empty on the RDB. Log is not
full on both RDB and RSSD. Maint user is dbo. What else
can I take a look at? PDS and RDS is 18.104.22.168, RS is 11.0.3
I don't remember since what version warm ...San replication for replication server
Has anyone ever put a replication server on SAN disk with
the intention of replication the stable queues and RSSD to a
DR sire via SAN replication
In other words replicate the entire replication server
across the SAN and bring it up whe DR is invoked
would there be any datalose on teh stables queues ?

Is it possible replicate text column in SQL anywhere 5.5.04 using
Replication Agent for SQL Anywhere and Replication Server 11.5 to Adaptive
yes. Replication of BLOBs works fine

I have been setup replication between ASE 11.5 and SQL Anywhere using
Repliation Server. The primary database is in ASE 11.5 and the replicate
database is SQL Anywhere 5.5.04. I have been setup Open gateway for SQL
Anyway, create the connection, create replciation definition and
subscription. No error show on the Replication Server Manager. But If I
inserted/updated/deleted data in the ASE database, no changes will be
replicated to the SQL Anywhere database. No queue has been written in the
outbound queue for this connection. No error also.
Would anyone help me?
On M...Bi-directional replication with Replication Server
What are the databases that participate in bi-directional replication
with a SQL Anywhere database? I heard that you can replicate only
INTO MS SQL Server, but not out (into SQL Anyhwere).
Does the same limitation hold for Adaptive Server Enterprize (a.k.a.
Sybase SQL Server) or Oracle on NT?
Please note that we are developing for Win95/Win NT paltform only. Any
feedback is appreciated.
SQL Anywhere can participate fully and bidirectionally in a Rep Server
setup. This means that it can replicate bidirectionally with ASE on all
platforms. It can re...Having two replication servers replicating from one primary
Sorry for cluttering this place with questions, but i kinda have so many
questions that i need to be answered.. Heres another one..
The primary DB that i am gonna replicate from currently has another
replication server replicating from it.. hence it already has been
configured and all.. I am gonna have my own rep server to connect to the
primary database, so there is gonna be two replication servers connected to
the primary DB. The two repservers will be independent of each other
The question is, are there any issues that i need to be aware of when i
configure to a...How do you get replication server to create tables at the replicate?
I want to set up replication and have replication server create the
replicate table at the replicate. Is this possible at all?
look at using warm standby with DDL replication.

...Alternative to replication server two way replication?
This may sound crazy, but where I work they are looking to
implement two way replication without using replication
In other words, they want two active systems A and B.
They want A to replicate to B and B to replicate to A and
are looking for alternatives to replication.
Does anyone know if this can be done?
Can it be done? yes
Are there any 3rd party products (other than RepServer) that'll do this
'out of the box'? *shrug* Not that I know of. [This just means that
*I* don't know of any.]
If you want t...Replicating a table using replication defns and subscription
We have a table in a database, which is in a warm standby setup.
The table has more than 128 columns and has a timestamp column.
The ltm bombs out giving an error about not being able to handle
more than 128 columns.
Is it possible to replicate this one table using a replication defn and

Has anyone does this before?
We are having problems setting up the subscription.
Pleas...Replicate in Cascade for 3 or more Databases with Replication Server
We want to make a table-to-table replication schema for 3 or
more databases using this architecture:
The row is created/modified in the first ASE, then, this row
is saved in central ASE using Rep Server, and this central
ASE replicate this row to other Remotes ASE's, in a cascade
fashion. The replication must be bi-directional, and we want
that all ASE's are always synchronised with the same data.
We try to do this with 3 ASE's, one origin, one repository
and one remote, but the record replicates only to the
repository and not to the remote ASE.
Anyone knows ...Is Replication Server capable of replicate data in real time?
I have a question about Replication Server, does Replication Server
guarantee 100% real time replication to another box?
Thanks in advance,
> I have a question about Replication Server, does Replication Server

What is your definition of 'real time'??
If you mean 'synchronous', i.e., data modifications take place at the
primary and secondary servers at the same time ... the answer is *NO*.
RepServer is an asynchronous replication product, i.e., data
modifications at the primary site t...ERROR replicating from ASE -> ASA using repsever
Hi, out there
I suddenly get the following error in the log file of the rep server:
E. 2001/04/11 13:32:13. ERROR #28049 DSI(113 PC10003.PC10003) -
Cannot find subscription <0x01000065800000e6> in system tables
can someone HELP me,
All the subscription information is stored in Rep Server system tables in
the RSSD, so this problem is likely not related to anything on the ASA side
of things. Hopefully somebody on the rep-server newsgroup can help, I only
know enough about Rep Server to be really dangerous.
