Package level Checking-out

I've been told in theory that the PD client app allows
Check-IN of packages independently of the model file.
However I don=92t see the menu item upon right click on a
package to check it in individually. The documentation
(Repository.pdf) doesn=92t mention any such ability.
Check-OUT, however according the document, can be possible
at a selective package level but the option is ONLY
available at the model level and I can deselect the packages
that I want Not checked out. However, in reality, while
working with BPMs I cannot see the option to selectively
choose the packages to be checked-Out.
Can someone confirm the above please? i.e. Checking-IN
individual packages is not possible. And Check-out at
package level is only possible by deselecting unwanted
packages? Thanks very much!

i think check in / out a package means that you are able to
give permissions on a package for different users. It means
that you can limit a user to a specific number of packages
he can work on.
For instance a User_package_1 which can only modify
package_1 and a User_package_2_3_4 can only modify
package_2, package_3, package_4.

Tab level Templates? Package Content into a redistributable package?
Just thought I'd ask if anyone knows if there is any mod etc. that can allow you to generate/package a bunch of tabs, module content & layout into a redistributable package? i.e. It would be great to be able to configure a section of a site the way that you want and rip it down into a template/package that can be applied to any other portal install (with the same modules installed). Before you all say "that's a portal template" - I was hoping to be able to do that selectively, just selecting the tabs/modules required and not the full site... i.e. I could create a "support tools" package...

Check In Check Out
I have some source code that I need to modify and it was sent to me in a Registered status. Therfore, when I open any object it says " 'object name' is registered but not checked out and therefore can not be overwritten. Open anyway?" Then when I try to check it out, I get "PBNative checkout not allowed for registered objects." How can I get around this? When I look under the "Source" menu, all the items concerning registered are grayed out. TIA Option1:Copy the object(Only) to someother pbl and try . Option2:If You have any SCC Expo...

Generalization between packages
How do you create a Generalization between two classes in two diffent packages? TIA -ScottTavares- stavares@home.com You add one of the classes as a shortcut in one of the packages and then you create the generalization. Checked=Checked
I am dynamically writing out checkboxes on a page.  I have 2 link buttons on the page that sets a boolean variable to True or False. This boolen is set in Page_PreInit and is used to Select or Deselect all the Checkboxes as they are written out. A Select ALL, Deselect ALL type of thing. At least that is the plan. As the page is being written out I do this for each checkbox and then add it to a table cell control that it added to a table row and on. tc is the table cell.  Dim chkItem As CheckBox = New CheckBox chkItem.ID = "chkRecommend" + drMember("ID")...

I am using PowerBuilder 9. The undo check out is right next to the check in. This is a big problem! I so easy to select Undo check out and lose all of your changes. High level (file level) disk checking tool to replace chkdsk?
I posted this on spinrite's group, but have not got any answer. I will try here then, I hope someone has an advice about this, thanks. I let SpinRite do the low level job and it does it very well, but when it is ready and you like to check the high level data (logical data) what is the best tool out there for NTFS? XP chkdsk looks more like a joke to me, it loves to turn all that it finds into this CHK0000.CHK bunch of files and you cannot recuperate anything from them. I have read about a program that can decypher these files and salvage data from them, but I would be more conf...

Checking-in from the Target Level
While we are trying to implement a Perforce best practice which suggests to check in (submit) all related changes together, we run into the following issue. If the objects are not located in the same pbl we cannot multi-select them, so we have to use the check in command at the target level. But when we try to [Check In] objects from the target level we experience a slow performance probably to the fact the the PB SCC subsystem works on single object algorithm versus the multi-object logic used when performing other operations such as [Refresh Status]. Is anyone experienci...

SMTP-Level To: Checks
Hey all, I've run into a problem the way my server is handling e-mails lately. One of my clients finally agreed to disable wild-card acceptance on their domain and explicitly set each e-mail address they want. Since I made that change tho I am now getting TONS of double bounces from all the spammers that 1) make it through all the spam filters and 2) are sending to an e-mail address that used to be valid. My send-queue has passed 1000 and I've already lowered my queue limit to 3 days instead of the default of 7. So, I figured the best way to resolve this is to just deny e-m...
