Exporting table, table comment, column, column comment, attributes to csv file. How can you export table, table comment, column, column
comment, attributes to csv file.
Thanks,
Joe
Joe,
You could write a report but it is probably easier to:
- go to Model | Columns
- set the filter to expose all the data your are interested
in
- click upper left corner of matrix
- click the copy icon
- paste contents to an empty Excel spreadsheet
- from Excel write out the file in csv format

Oracle: PDM: Comment on View column: How to display the Comment Attribute in View propertiesIn Oracle 8.0 it is possible to create comments on view columns (comment on
<viewname>.<columnname> is '...').
In Physical Architect i found no possibility to display the
comment-Attribute in the View Properties Dialog.
Any special Trick or perhaps a feature for next release?
Thanks, Markus

PowerDesigner won't generate column commentsWhen using PowerDesigner 8.0 to generate SQL Anywhere tables, the SQL is
generated to include the column comments typed in during the design. The
code is there in the generated SQL script to add the column comments.
However, the comments never get to the table, even though the script
executes perfectly.
Does anybody know why? Is this a reported bug?
Hi,
When you say COLUMN comment is in the design,
is it in Column Name or Column Comment.
I have reported this bug and you need the latest EBF for V8.
Reason being column comment will work only when you
have it in column com...

So I reverse engineer an existing SQLAny db, get all the comments in
PowerDesigner, make some changes and generate the new tables into a
blank db. The original column comments do not show up in powerbuilder
when I examine the tables. Not too cool at all. Does anybody know why?

MS SLQ 2K column comments being truncated (powerdesigner 11)I am using Powerdesigner 11 (11.0.0.1363 Eval). When I do a
Reverse Engineer of a MS SQL Server 2K database, the column
comments for the tables are being truncated at 30
characters. It seems like this ought to be a setting
somewhere, but I haven't been able to find it.
Bill,
Since you are in a trial period, do you have a sales representative you are
working with. They should have a technical resource that can assist you in
finding the issue, and/or logging a case.
If you are not working with someone, please contact me directly and I will
assist.

Drat. I don't have access to a SQL Server database. Are you using
ODBC? Which vendor's driver?

Comment on columnsHi, I'm using PD 12.5, my design is based on MySQL server, I'm adding
comments for every column in tables but I dont wanna show those comments
in my script generated, is there any way to hide them?
Database Generation Options does not have a option for that.
thanks in advance
Hi,
When you create your ddl (generate database), the options
tab lets you de-select comments for a table.

Hi All,
I've been mastering Asp.net c# for a month and what a tool this is......awesome, ( microsoft youv'e econverted me). Im currently developing an app for a friend who wants the function of a commenting system on his index page. I want to know if this is possible to do as I dont know where to start. Have tried google and their are a few good places but nothing to keep it all inside one page. What I mean is say at the bottom of the page there hopefully will be a box where people can add comments and submit them. The last three comments hopefully should be displayed bel...
When is a column not a column?I have several extremely similar datawindows that I have to maintain that go
against the same table. Recently, I had to add a column to that table, and
also add the column to ALL of these datawindows that go against this table.
I added the column to the first datawindow, set up the edit control style,
etc. I then did a copy/paste of the columns edit control to the remaining
dw's (of course remembering to first add the column in SQL). Everything
(update props, column specs, column props) seems to indicate that the pasted
column is linked to the column I selected, HOWEVER, when I...

May I please ask if it is possible to download and install update and
individual packages for openSUSE 10.2 offline.
Are there any IDE's similar to Visual Studio Express available for
Linux.

I downloaded the beta version and tried it out for a couple of days to
get the feel of it. My personal opinion is it takes longer to get where
i am going, but overall the browser is great!! I like the look, and it
is just as stable as the last version.

Hi,
I cant say much about the functionality in firefox, it works fine and it
has the most features I want, what Im missing is the "I have luck"
button to the Google search. Often you know a keyword for one site but
you dont know the address or you are just to layzy to write it. I dont
want to waste the space with a bunch of fastbuttons to websites och fill
my bookmarks menu, so that button would be more then welcome. Thats all
for now I think.
