Powerbuilder 8 Migration Problem

I recently migrated my application from PB7 to PB8. Now in PB8 I can not
view my datawindows in graphic mode. It looks like Powerbuilder looks for
columns to be in uppercase when my columns are in lowercase. If I change
them to uppercase (in syntax mode) it works fine. I don't want to have to
do this for hundreds of datawindows. Does anyone have a good solution for

I haven't run into that problem, but have seen behaviors that you can
check. I have had a problem with graphics mode depending on how the
database connection was handling public synonyms. If you are looking for a
public synonym, see if you database connection is qualifying the public
synonyms, or even if they include them at all. I ran into the problem at
one point because I was using the unqualified name in the datawindow and at
some point wasn't showing public synonyms in the database connect. If the
problem involves table names which you were accessing as public synonyms,
check you database connect properties under system and see if you have
Public Synonyms checked and if they are qualified (with PUBLIC).

In addition to the stated problem above, we are using Microsoft SQL Server
7.0 and using the OLE driver for connection. We are directly referring to
the tables qualifying with the owner id. Powerbuilder 7.0 displays and
saves the sql in lower case, but Powerbuilder 8.0 is failing in graphics
mode because it is doing a case sensitive match (it is looking for upper
case column names). Thanks for any help.

Silly statements like window name is invalid due to global variable of same type, or incomatible types in assignment. several erorrs and information that make no sense, yet never came up in version 7. Problems in installling powerbuilder 8
Sir, I was trying to install powerbuilder 8.0 evaluation copy from common installer provided by sybase. In setup when I select only Powerbuilder 8, it asks me to select adaptive server option also. When I selects that one also, it searches for adaptive server 7.0 setup.exe file. Where as, I had adaptive server 8.0 already installed on my machine. But still it is asking me for that file.(If I gives path of adaptive server 8.0, it does not accept it.) It then asks for Jaguar, Powerdynamo and PBEXT setup files. It asks me if I want to cancel that section of setup,If I sa...
