Group Summary at bottom of last page?

Hi All.
I need to have a group summary appear on a specific location of a page.
The paper has perforations and the summary needs to always be at a certain
location.
The problem is that the summary just appears on the last page right after
the detail.
If there is not very much detail on the last page then the summary is way at
the top of the page.
I always need it on the bottom 1/3 of the page.
Any ideas?

Thanks,

  Mike

Put the objects you currently have in the summary band, into the footer
band. Set the visible property of these objects to
"if(getrow()=rowcount(),1,0)"

Objects will only be visible at the end of the report, and the bottom of
the last page.

Thanks Gary.
The only problem with that solution is that the space taken up by the object
will be a blank space on all pages except the last page.
There are 3-4 inches of objects that I need to appear at the bottom of the
last page and since the footer does not have the ability to autosize height,
there will be a 3-4 inch empty space at the bottom of every page except the
last.

Plus, I can't modify the height of any bands programmatically (via
PowerScript from the calling window) because this datawindow is going to be
exported and then used by a client-server app that has the ability to import
datawindows, store them in a database, and then execute them on demand as
reports. Thus, I am limited what I can do SOLELY in the datawindow.

Any other ideas?

  Thanks,

    Mike

Quickest way would be to make the summary band the size of one whole page.
Unfortunately, this means that the summary would always print by itself on
the bottom of the last page, without any detail rows. Maybe make the
summary 3/4 the size of a full page?

Alternatively, you could try putting your summary objects in the autosized
detail band, and making their Visible, Y, and Height attributes dependent
on the getrow/rowcount comparison? This would end up being kind of hacky,
but it might work.

Without access to powerscript it is tricky...

Good Luck

Navigating back from detail page to summary page causes summary page to reset.
I have an ASP.NET page containing a bunch of search critera the user specifies and a "search" button. When they click search, I go get all the records matching their search and display them in a datagrid. Each record has a hyperlink allowing them to go to a details page and see more information. The problem is that, for some people - not all, when they click the back button in the browser from the details page, all of their selection criteria on the search page is cleared out and the datagrid is gone. For others (myself included) however, when I click the back button, I se...

Datawindow Group Summary
I'm hoping there's a solution for this, as I'm stumped. I have a report that has a detail row for each vehicle. Each vehicle has several charactersitics that are displayed - make, model, year, price, etc. There are several optional groupings that aren't related to my problem. The problem lies in *where* the customer wants the subtotals and the content of the subtotals. At the end of the report, (in the summary) totals are displayed which are grand totals for the report. Right before this, the client wants subtotals based on the manufacturer of the vehicles...

Composite Datawindow
I have a system for printing reports using a composite report. The composite report has a header, 1 -embedded report, and a footer. The user chooses which datawindow to embedded. Some of the embedded datawindows are printing large amounts of text that spans several pages. About half the time, the last line of text printed is cropped and the part cropped appears on the next page. I am running NT4 with PB6.5. I have tried a. making the embedded report the exact size of one line of print. b. sizing the detail area very small. c. Different font families. Arial seemed the worst, T...

Summary of datawindow on another page
Is there away to get the summary band of a datawindow report to print on a new page. The probelm is that I have a ton of information and it is too big to print when one row exists on the last page and the bottom is getting cut off, i would like to print the entire summary band on the next page. I am using PB 6.5. Thanks in advance. You can force a page break by including a very small composite DW at the top of your summary band. Composite reports have a "new page" setting for nested reports but non-composites do not. The trick is to: 1. create an external DW with no...

datawindow groupings and page breaks
Hi, I have a grouped tabular datawindow. This dw will only be used in the application and never printed. My issue is: If there are 10 rows of data, but only room for 8 rows in the viewable area, the dw places a page break and separates the last 2 rows. I want the user to just scroll down and have one long continuous page (live scrolling is checked on the dw control). I'm sure this behaviour could be turned off in previous versions, but I just can't find it in PB7. Any help is appreciated, Tim Are you by chance in print preview mode? -- Terry Dykstra (Tea...

A computed at the bottom of the last page.
Hi, I'd like to know if it is possible to have this issue in a dw ot print: * Some computed (total amount of an invoice + taxes for example) only at the end of the last page and filling all the previous pages. I actually use a nested in the footer section, only visible if it is the last page. But the space in previous pages is not "used". And if I put the nested in summary the computed fields appear under the last line in detail, not at the end of the page. Thanks, Josep PB 10.5 supports autosize height in all bands - including footer. <Josep>...
