connecting PB 4.0.07 to Oracle 7.3.4.4.0 using native drivers

Hi
I am trying to connect PB 4.0.07 to Oracle 7.3.4.4.0 using native drivers .
I can connect to oracle using sql*plus and when i use the same connect
string I get an ora 09352 error "Windows 32 bit two task driver unable to
spawn new oracle task". I am using sql net 2.3. I can connect to oracle
using ODBC.

I would appreciate help on this matter.

Thanks
-Jeya

16-bit PB4 cannot use 32-bit sqlnet. PB/sqlnet must both be 16 or 32 bit.

Hi

Sorry, I didn't mean to post it twice. I thought the first one didn't go
thru.
Anyways, I got it to work. I have sql*plus 8.0 as well as 3.3 . My sql*plus
3.3 wasn't working and that was causing the problem. After it got fixed, i
had to login the first time as system/<password> to get in.

Thanks ,
-Jeya

If you're getting one of these messages:
ORA-12203 TNS:unable to connect to destination
ORA-12154 TNS:could not resolve service name
ORA-03121 no interface driver connected - function not performed

Then, go to my website for a possible solution.

I hope this solves the problem for some.

I am having a problem with connecting our deployed application in PB 7.0.2 and connecting it to an Oracle 8.1.6 using the native 8.0.4/8.0.5 driver. We get the message that "The DBMS O84 is not supported in the current installation.999" We recently upgraded from Oracle 7.3.2 to Oracle 8.1.6 The development team is working great. I can connect to the database in PB and with the compiled exe. However, we just gave the first test exe to the testers and they cannot connect to Oracle 8.1.6 Here is the run-down of what I looked for: The testers did have the Oracle client in...

PowerBuilder 5.0/Oracle 7.3.4 connectivity issue
About a year ago we upgrade our Oracle database and our only Power Builder user has just made us aware of a problem that he has been having since that time. The problem is poor performance. What is happening is when he goes into Power Builder and tries to display his tables, it takes about 5 minutes to display them. Then, if he tries to access one of the tables it takes like 10 - 15 minutes to pull up that tables records. Any ideas. Here is our layout. We have an Oracle 7.3.4 database running on an HP-UX boxes running HP-UX 10.20. We are trying to access the database using Power ...

Does PB 4.0 connect to Centura 7.0?
We upgraded our Gupta 6.0 database to Centura 7.0, and now we cannot connect from a PB 4.0 application. The old driver was PBGUP040.DLL. Is there some other driver we can use, or something else we can do to make this application connect to the new database? Thank you John Hagstrand I think you're going to have to take the plunge and convert to ODBC. There is no native driver for Gupta/Centura and PB 4.0 has not been supported for around 6 months or so. Bind Variable Problems using PB 7 and Oracle 7.3.4 Native Drivers.

We're using the Oracle 7.3 native database drivers to connect to both Oracle 7.3.3.5 and 7.3.4 databases. Is anyone able to shed some light on the behaviour described below? Regards, Michael. For background our dbparm is set to "ASYNC=1,PBDBMS=0,SQLCACHE=8,STATICBIND=0". Using the following query where ai_current_per is defined as a numeric argument binding it to 390.
