ASE 12.0 Migrating from Sun Solaris 2.6 to 2.8
Planning to change the srver from Sun OS 5.6 to Sun OS 5.8 with the following Version of ASE ASE/12.0.0.2/p/SWR 9435 ESD1/ Sun_svr4/OS 5.6/1662/32 bit. Is there any major know issues in Migrating the Sun OS but with the running the same ASE. Any help is really appreciated. Sun DiskSuite 4.2.1, Solaris 2.8 and ASE 12.0.0.4
Does anybody use the combination menstioned in the subject? There is a flag in DiskSuite that prevents Write-on-Write. That flag seems having a huge impact on the write performance. Has anyone tried running ASE 12.5.0.3 on Solaris 2.6? We have an upgrade scheduled from ASE 11.9.2x on Solaris 2.6 to ASE 12.5.0.3 on Solaris 2.8. We have been running ASE 11.9.2 on Solaris 2.6 for last three years and it seems fine. Lately we tested our applications (still built on Solaris 2.6) on a faster machine running on Solaris 8. Every app runs 40% faster except two key apps, which run even slower. We're trying to install ASE 12.0 with HA on Sun Cluster 2.2, followed all the step, until 'sp_companion "primary_server_name", configure, with_proxydb, null, sa, sapassword' then got error 18737 (server not cluster configured), in sp_hacmpaccessvrfy. When a 6.0.2 database is loaded on 8.0.2 3601 engine, sybase central 4 try to migrate it into 8.0.2: it seems to make an unload/reload. Is the database in 8.0.2 format (real migration) ? It seems to be because I can insert some events, create mail proc. , etc... I just double checked.
