Upgrading from ASE (32-bit) 12.0.0.7 on Solaris 2.8 64-bit to ASE(64-bit) 12.5.1 on Solaris 64-bitHello all,
We are planning to upgrade our ASE servers from a 32-bit ASE 12.0.0.7 to
64-bit ASE 12.5.1 on Solaris 8. Could you please give what are the steps to
be taken care and how do I start with ( Do I have to first upgrade to
32-bit12.5.1 and then upgrade to 64-bit ASE 12.5.1, or directly upgrade from
32-bit 12.0.0.7 to 64-bit 12.5.1 ?).
Could you also please point to some documentation (about upgrading 32-bit
12.0.0.7 to 64-bit 12.5.1).
Thanks
RK

Is it just me or has the Fandango site stopped working with FF (1.5.0.7, 1.5.0.9, 2.0) on eComStation 1.2 ?Hi all, I've possibly messed up my Firefox installations, but other
pages still seem to work OK. Has anyone else had problems recently with
http://www.fandango.com ? The home page comes up, and then completely
hangs my system, and even if I ctrl-alt-delete and kill Firefox with
TOP, I just get a black screen and have to re-boot. It used to work fine.
If it's just me, does anyone have any advice for what might be happening
or how to go about figuring it out ?
Thanks in advance,
Karen Roberts

From 2.1.2 to 3.1 or 2.1.2 to 3.0.13 to 3.1
I'm checking back in after being away for a couple of months and I missed the 3.1 release. I can't seem to find any info on what's new in 3.1 and also what the upgrade path should be. So, is the recommended path for upgrading from v 2.1.2 to go directly to 3.1 or do I need to go to 3.0.13 first? Are there any big issues in 3.1 that make it a "gotta have it" version?I did a couple of 2.1.2 to 3.0.12 upgrades but haven't upgraded to or tested 3.1 yet. I have one 2.1.2 site that is commercial and I need it to be down as little time as possible. It also has a lot of third party modules...
Are OC 12.0 or 12.5 compatible with ASE 11.5.1 in Solaris 2.6?Hi All,
Do you know if OC 12.0 or 12.5 is compatible with ASE 11.5.1 in Solaris
2.6? We are upgrading our roguewave libraries to use RougeWave SourcePro
but it seems SourcePro DB only supports Sybase 12 or 12.5 OC but our ASE is
stilll in 11.5.1. I was just wondering if anybody had ran across this
issue.
Thanks,
S.r.

ASE 12.5.0.3 Asynch I/O on Red Hat Linux AS 2.1Hi all,
I am experiencing problems when trying to use asynchronous
I/O and raw devices with ASE 12.5.0.3 on Red Hat linux 2.1.
(kernel 2.4.9-e.24smp + glibc 2.2.4-32.3)
When Asynch I/O are activated on the ASE server the writes
to my raw devices becomes very very slow. When I deactivate
the option everything seems to be fine again. The test I
have done consist in creating a database of 500M of data and
200M of log on raw devices. With Asynch I/O on it takes
hours to initialise the database whereas it takes only few
minutes when the option asynch I/O is off.
Has anyone tested t...

ASE 12.5.0.3 slow compared to ASE 11.9.2.Hi,
I am new to the list and apologise in advance if the question is incomplete
or in the wrong newsgroup.
We use a shopping cart called Intershop which uses sybase ASE 11.9.2 on a
W2K server.
We have upgraded the shopping cart to epages 4.5, and we now use Windows
2003 server. The ASE version has been upgraded to 12.5.0.3.
The hardware has also been upgraded, approx four times as powerful, faster
15K scsi raid, dual xeon 3ghz. 3.5gb ram.
The performance of the database seems to be an issue, I have created a test
table, and inserted 1000 rows of data.
