Where are the ZENworks Patch Management server patches at?
According to this URL: http://www.novell.com/support/dynamickc.do?externalId=3540830&sliceId=SAL_Public&command=show&forward=nonthreadedKC&kcId=3540830 ZENworks Patch Management Patch 5 is out....I must be way behind because I still have the base product installed. Where are these patches at? I cannot seem to find any of them on Novell's website. Applying these patches could very well fix my issue with my server not being able to contact novell.patchlinksecure.net as well as the issue we are having regarding the Discovery Agent using vast amounts of client CPU...

Zenworks 6.5 patch management server on WinXP
Hi, We are going to deploy Patchlink on our network. Each of our 2 servers will service between 75 and 125 clients each (2 servers for 2 cities). It is our understanding that the server will run on Windows XP Professional SP1. The documentation is kind of contradictory because XP is not listed in the system requirements for a production server, but it is listed in one of the screen shots of the install routine. My question is, if Patchlink will run on WinXP, will it also run on XP service pack 2 (with the firewall disabled), or only on service pack 1? Thanks, Ken Ken, ...

Where is "6.1.2.109 ZENworks Patch Management Server Hotfix "
I've been looking for an hour now. I found a couple of TIDs referencing it, and mention of it throughout this forum, but not the actual downloadable file. ZENworks Patch Management 6.3
We were using ZPM version 6.2.x for a while and had 400 clients registered with the server. Many of the agents were older versions because of compatibility issues with other software (we can't install MSXML 4SP2). Because of that, we have most clients installed with 6.0.0.58 agents. Two days ago I tried to upgrade the server to version 6.3 but didn't see the upgrade instructions (why isn't that part of the documentation?). I tried just using the download from the ZEN7 suite w/SP1 and the result was I had to start completely from scratch. It removed the old vers...

Hello, We are currently running the Agent version: Client Agent: 6.4.2.253 Detection Agent: 6.4.2.253 Patch Management Server: 6.4.2.1378 Control Panel: 6.4.2.253 Notification Manager: 6.4.2.252 If i deploy the new patch: "C - ZENworks Patch Management Agent Upgrade for Windows from 6.0 or higher to 6.4.2.378" it is installed fine (status: green), but after a reboot of this workstation the Client Agent is not changed and still 6.4.2.253. Hello, I recently rebuilt our ZENworks environment in order to go production with everything and due to the recent 10.0.1 update. We built it out on SLES servers (patched) with a MS SQL 2005 server and the computers are XPsp2. My issue is with a user authentication refresh failure. The exact message is: User authentication failed during a refresh. User applications will not be available. This may occur if the user's password is changed or if the user is deleted from the user source. During testing I have attempted to isolate this error by building some computers usi...

Compression Custom Patch Zenworks Patch Management
Hello, Please I am testing Custom Patch ZPM 6.4, My problem is I don't know how many compress file. Please someone knows this, Please tell me. Regardess Ricardo Seris Guerra -- Ricardo_Seris ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ricardo, are you asking how to compress your files? In a custom package you would have to do this yourself, perhaps use winzip to compress, then use a script to decompress at the workstation. To make this automatic, you would need to buy the PDK (Patch Development Kit) -- Shaun Pond ...

ZENworks Patch Management Server Name change
hello everyone, if we change our PatchLink server name.. what is the steps to make sure that the new server name is registered with Patch management services including MSDE...Thanks in advance The best way to accomplish this is to edit the host file located in %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\ directory. Create a new entry that will resolve the old server name to 127.0.0.1. This way, the MSDE Database will still be able to located the old server name. ...

Zenworks Patch Management/PatchLink 6.4
This weekend I updated out 6.3 system to the 6.4 software and everything seems to be working fine, except I can't find a package/vulnerabilities that shows the new agent (6.4.2.245) to be installed. Currently most of my agents are at 6.3.2.858. My Subscription Service History shows vulnerabilities/licenses/packages status as all complete and successful is True. I can install the new agent manually without problem. Anybody have any ideas what to try next? Pat, It appears that in the past few days you have not received a response to your posting. That concerns us, a...

Patches, patches, patches... #2
OK, this is advance warning that I'm about to be reposting a bunch of patches of mine which appear to have succumbed to Warnock's Dilemma. The first three should be uncontroversial: there's a documentation fix-up for core.ops, and new tests for strings and stacks. The last one is rather larger, and consists of a greatly expanded set of tests for PerlString's, plus a bunch of bug-fixes. I'd be grateful if Jeff or Dan could take a look at this, as I have the feeling that a lot of the scalar PMCs are going to need similar fixes. Simon ...

Undocumented fix in Active Directory driver version 3.5.14 Patch 8 or 3.6.1 Remote Loader patch 3
Just in case anyone else experiences the same problem. We resolved an issue at a client yesterday where some password change events from AD were discarded and never sent to the engine. The resolution was to update to AD 3.5.14 Patch 8 and IDM 3.6.1 Remote Loader patch 3 The environment was previously running IDM 3.6.1 Active Directory Driver Patch 4 and IDM 3.6.1 Remote Loader patch 2. The domain controller was Windows 2008r2 A powershell script was used to mass set pre-determined passwords on approx 2000 AD users that had been provisioned previously by IDM. A level 5 ...
