What do I need to run ZWPatch Mgmt? #2Morning,
Very interested in this, but I have a load of questions:
I have a eDir 8.7 tree with Zenworks for desktops 4.01 in it running on
three NW6.5 boxes. I realise a Win2k Server box is necessary, but will
the product install into that environment, or must I have Zenworks 6.5
too?
Secondly, I have about 100 Zenworks-registered workstations in the tree,
but an additional $BIGNUM (two 510 subnets' worth) of personal machines.
I'd like to open the Patch management up to them too, is this possible
without installing the ZfDa or Client32 on each workstation?
Cheer...
What needs to be done after applying a patch to ZenworksHey,
I've already wrote a few times here but haven't been able to correct my
problem.
Recently we updated from Zenworks 4.01 ir4 to Zenworks 4.01 ir5. The zen
partition doesn't seem to be updated because at the No Work To Do Screen
it should say 4.01.05 but it's not. However, if I use the Boot Iso Cd and
update the zen partition from it at the No Work To Do screen will then say
4.01.05.
Isn't the zupdate.sig file in the sys/zenworks folder suppose to update
the zen partition on each computer? Also, someone said that you can
update the kernel by add...

Why, does Firefox, even when mimimized, still takes up to 20, 30, 40%
(or more) of my CPU on my Windows XP Pro computer. It seems to just
happily chew up cycles. How do I get it to do nothing while minimized.
Especially a problem with virtual machines.
Thanks,

I'm about to apply a whole heap 'o patches to Parrot. (With

Sorry 'bout this. Too much mail in the mailbox, and going back in

Running out of Drive Space on ZEN patch MGMt server
I'm running into an issue with drive space on the Zenworks Patch
Management server, the folder
C:\Program Files\Novell\ZENworks Patch Management
Server\Storage\00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
It keeps growing and would like to automate the process to clean out
older items, currently is 25 GB.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Bkpinellas,
there's no way to automate this, but if you can add a new drive, you can move the storage to another location... http://www.novell.com/s...
Run apps without zenworks running? This may be a really dumb-headed and probably useless question, but I'm
curious (but not enough to try it during prod hours). If I have a NW
server that has zenworks installed on it, but the services not running
(zfdstop), can users still click on apps to distribute them? I only ask
because zfdstart only starts WOL, Imaging, WS Imp/Rem and PXE. My gut and
head says no it cant, but I only wonder.
Thanks for answering my useless questions,
Frank.

Where are the ZENworks Patch Management server patches at?According to this URL:

ZENworks Patch Management Patch 5 is out....I must be way behind because I
still have the base product installed. Where are these patches at? I
cannot seem to find any of them on Novell's website. Applying these
patches could very well fix my issue with my server not being able to
contact novell.patchlinksecure.net as well as the issue we are having
regarding the Discovery Agent using vast amounts of client CPU...

Ricardo,
are you asking how to compress your files? In a custom package you
would have to do this yourself, perhaps use winzip to compress, then
use a script to decompress at the workstation. To make this automatic,
you would need to buy the PDK (Patch Development Kit)
