I recently rebuilt our ZENworks environment in order to go production
with everything and due to the recent 10.0.1 update. We built it out on
SLES servers (patched) with a MS SQL 2005 server and the computers are
XPsp2.
My issue is with a user authentication refresh failure. The exact
message is:
User authentication failed during a refresh.
User applications will not be available.
This may occur if the user's password is changed or if the user is
deleted from the user source.
During testing I have attempted to isolate this error by building some
computers usi...
Where are the ZENworks Patch Management server patches at?According to this URL:

ZENworks Patch Management Patch 5 is out....I must be way behind because I
still have the base product installed. Where are these patches at? I
cannot seem to find any of them on Novell's website. Applying these
patches could very well fix my issue with my server not being able to
contact novell.patchlinksecure.net as well as the issue we are having
regarding the Discovery Agent using vast amounts of client CPU...
ZPM updates for PM server that is patching RHEL servers
The version of PM on the PM server that will be patching RHEL servers is
6.4.2.1326. The version of PM on another PM server that is patching
Windows desktops and servers is 6.4.2.1549. I know that for the PM
server that is patching Windows, any updates for the PM server are
included as part of the packages. I don't see the same for the PM
server that will be used to patch Linux. So, how does that PM server
get PM updates for itself?
To confuse matters more, the PM server that will patch Linux is being
patched by the PM server that is patching Windows but I don't see any...
Patch-update/server-SwitchWe will switch groupwise 6.0 to an new second server. (single DO/PO).
the old server will rest as file-server.
And we will also apply the newest patches. Can we install on the
new server the new agents (GW 6.0 Sp4) and copy the DO/PO Structure to the
new server and let run then direct the newer NLM on this structur?
(i know that i must adapt the path in NDS-objects)
Beat Brunner
Don't forget the config files in sys:\system.
Past that, this is almost like an agent upgrade, you are just moving to
a new server in the middle.
If you want a TID or 2 on moving to a new server ...
Patch Update has Broken ServerHi,
I just updated many patches on Suse10sp2 and OES2sp1.
- no keyboard
- no mouse
- can not ping the server
- can not ssh obviously
- FailSafe start has the same issues
All I have is the GNOME GUI screen.
I can not even get to console prompt as there is no keyboard response !
It is an IBM AMD64bit 3655.
Any ideas on what to do next?
Thanks

Security Update for patch management serverIn the home page for the patch management server web console, there is a
notice dated 5/30/06 about the 6.2 SR1 P1 security update with a link to
ID 303 on Patchlink's Knowledgebase. Does anyone know when the version
for Novell's patch management will be coming out?
very soon, it's still undergoing tests at Novell (for ZPM program
updates, we do extra tests after Patchlink releases them).

Patch Management Update Server VersionWhere can I find more information about the patchmanagement components?
The Web-Gui shows under Options -> Support only one entry with Version: 6.3.2.700
and this is still the same after the 6.3 P-5 patch.
IMHO would be a bit more information helpfull for admins.
Sebastian
Sebastian,
if you look at the notes for the patch, there's a "more information" link, which takes you to here http://www.novell.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=3540830&sliceId=SAL_Public&dialogID=23478352&stateId=0%200%2023482076

Sorry 'bout this. Too much mail in the mailbox, and going back in

Updates Updates UpdatesI was a big fan of Firefox.. Now, I don't even like to use it. Seems
like every time I start it up I have to update some addin OR the
browser itself. And unfortunately the update nag messages are always
presented when I start a browsing session. I find this annoying
because, typically, when I open a web browser all I want to do is go
to a web page. Not update the browser.
I can agree that staying current with the latest version could give
the best, fastest, safest web experience. But that point becomes mute
when I start off every other browsing session with a new update. And

Hi !
if you want to develop a fine webbrowser, maybe you nee a new

professional.
Test your software before the release and let the user download a stable
browser. this update-orgy since 2.0.0 used me to use Opera instead of FF.
We haved use FF in our Company, but we can't deploy a new version every
week to +200 Windows-clients, so in our company we've decided to return

Tuesday.
So far this week - new kernel (2.6.27.10), 2 new browsers (Opera 9.63
and Firefox 3.05) and a new plugin (Flash 10.0.156.3). I'm about ready
to try one od the BSD's!

Hello,
Normally I use Safari, but my iBook is out of commission for a while.
So, I am forced to use a PC to which I would much rather use Firefox
than Internet Exploder. However, as much I enjoy not using a Microsoft
product, and use a product that works decently, I am severely annoyed
about the constant updates I am put through. In the last two days, I had
to wait for Firefox to install updates before I could browse and now,
I'm alerted that there'...
