Non Patch list or Non Patch report
We are a financial institution and we need to show examiners a report on
what is NOT patched. Which is the easiest way to get a report of a
list of IP addresses and computer names and a list of what isn't patched
for each one?

Ddonahue22,
I don't know of any simple way of doing this, and in any case how do
you define "not patched"? If you define this by "meeting our mandatory
baseline", then there's the baseline detail report, if you want a

It should be no surprise that we do not plan on releasing IE7 for Windows
2000. One reason is where we are in the Windows 2000 lifecycle. Another is
that some of the security work in IE7 relies on operating system
functionality in XPSP2 that is non-trivial to port back to Windows 2000.

Running Windows Under Non-Admin Accounts[quote]
Everyone knows that one of the most important principles of network
security is least privilege: grant ordinary users only those rights
and permissions they need to get their work done and no more. For
example, if ordinary users dont need access to sensitive data stored
in the Accounting share, dont give them any permissions on that
share, either through shared folder permissions on the share itself or
NTFS permissions on the folder underlying the share...

not able to automatically run a windows .exe fileName:
Product: Firefox
Summary: not able to automatically run a windows .exe file
Comments:
Ok, this is a security issue but the main question is:
FireFox should not made the decision for me.
I should have an option to run an exe file from a trusted site.
This is more than just an inconvenient.
I cannot use FF to access my company web site to setup a VIP connection.
So I was forced to abandon FF & go back to IE.

Comments:
Why, does Firefox, even when mimimized, still takes up to 20, 30, 40%
(or more) of my CPU on my Windows XP Pro computer. It seems to just
happily chew up cycles. How do I get it to do nothing while minimized.
Especially a problem with virtual machines.
Thanks,

How to use regular expression or code to distinguish between non english character and non english escape charater.
This may not be the right place. I have a question: In ascii characters , a-z are all characters and the rest are all escape characters. We can use regular expression as \w and \W respectively. But in other languages like Japanese or Chinese have different type of full stop, but in regular expression they all related to \W including their characters. Is there a way in Regular expression or in c# code can distinguish between jap/chinese character and jap/chinese type escape character.

Unicode when using XE2 in a non-English Windows environmentHi.
I wonder if any of you ever encountered a problem when reading UTF8 files with BOM
in a non-English Windows environment (e.g. Windows 7 with system locale set to Chinese, Traditional, Taiwan...).
When compiled with DelphiXE - program recognizes these files without problems - right (Chinese) characters are generated.
But when compiled with DelphiXE2 - program does not recognize UTF8 files with BOM, they consider everything as a single line instead of several lines.
But on the other hand it works without problems when using English windows.
Thanks in advance.
