Bandwidth Considerations

Does the new Patch Management piece have a bandwidth throttle of some
sort? I'm doing some research and can't find anything about this. I see
that I can schedule updates, but even at 2:00AM I still don't want my
network flooded with updates going to all computers.

surely in a switched network, this shouldn't be an issue? I don't have
an answer to your question, thought looking at the Patchlink site, I
would say no

you can set say 50, or 100 machines at a time to get patches, they
don't have to have it all at the same time

According to this URL: ZENworks Patch Management Patch 5 is out....I must be way behind because I still have the base product installed. Where are these patches at? Compression Custom Patch Zenworks Patch Management
Hello, Please I am testing Custom Patch ZPM 6.4, My problem is I don't know how many compress file. Please someone knows this, Please tell me. Regardess Ricardo Seris Guerra -- Ricardo_Seris ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ricardo, are you asking how to compress your files? In a custom package you would have to do this yourself, perhaps use winzip to compress, then use a script to decompress at the workstation. Patches, patches, patches... #2
OK, this is advance warning that I'm about to be reposting a bunch of patches of mine which appear to have succumbed to Warnock's Dilemma. The first three should be uncontroversial: there's a documentation fix-up for core.ops, and new tests for strings and stacks. The last one is rather larger, and consists of a greatly expanded set of tests for PerlString's, plus a bunch of bug-fixes. I'd be grateful if Jeff or Dan could take a look at this, as I have the feeling that a lot of the scalar PMCs are going to need similar fixes. Simon ...

Patching Considerations
I'm getting ready to patch a NetWare 6.5 server that's currently running SP3. This server is the password portal server for our organization, and it's running IDM2.x. Our upgrade to IDM3.5 is still a few months out. Is there a non-negligible chance that applying NW65SP6 or SP7 to this server could break the password portal? Thanks Doug, It appears that in the past few days you have not received a response to your posting. That concerns us, and has triggered this automated reply. Has your problem been resolved? If not, you might try one of the following option...

ZDM7 SP1 Hot Patch (ZENworks 7 Desktop Managment SP1 Hot Patch 1)
The hotpatch has resolved my Optiplex GX745 boot issue, however I would like to throw out some observations. We have a script that reads the Image Safe Data and these are the changes I have notices. `zisview Name` used to return the PC name value from the image safe data, now it has changed to `zisview ComputerName` `zisview Wrokgroup` used to return the workgroup value from the image safe data, now it has changed to `zisview WindowsWrokgroup` is the purpose of changing these attribute names a path forward for something in the future? On another note, can anyone who has ...

Problems after patching Zenworks 4
Hi, Ever since one of the technicians at our High School applied the Zenworks 4 ira4 patch, I've been noticing a lot of strange problems at the "No Work To Do" screen at system startup. We have a zen partition installed on every computer. Almost every machine now doesn't say "No Work To Do", but it says either "Error: Workstation does not exist in NDS" or "Could not connect to proxy". Also, sometimes the computer freezes before it even generates these errors. Now I know the workstation does exist because I verified it through C...

[PATCH] patching for sunos
Hi coders, greetings from the stone age: This is perl, v5.9.4 built for sun4-sunos-stdio SunOS Release 4.1.3 (GENERIC) #3: Mon Jul 27 16:44:16 PDT 1992 $ uname -a SunOS xxx 4.1.3 3 sun4m If anyone is interested in patches for SunOS yet, I have some. Some are harmless, some may not be optimal. Help/hints/tips are always nice and appreciated. 1. SunOS realloc() does not like NULL pointers as parameters. (buf?realloc((buf), (size)):malloc((size))) 2. There is no strtoul(), alas. Some older code correctly uses the Strtoul() macro (capital S). Newer additions don't...

BlackIce Patched or Not Patched?
ISS recently released a patch for the much published denial of server venerability in BlackIce Defender. Yet, eEye referred to the venerability as a buffer overflow. My question is ... does the newly released patch cover both? The ISS site does not refer to a buffer overflow. Does that mean that even after installing the patch BlackIce Defender is open to a buffer overflow? (not good if so) I've taken BlackIce offline until I am certain that it is fully patched. Thanks in advance. Tom Correction: Denial of service venerability as opposed to denial of server. (grin) ...
