Hi, I am randomly getting the following error message in my application.
ERROR [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server on 'IP Address of the server'(10048) ERROR [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server on 'IP of the server' (10048)
I am using .Net 2.0 with VS2005 having ODBC 3.51.14 Driver.
Can any body point out the core reasons of the above error message?

When I connect SQL Server 2005 to a remote database i get the error: "This version of Microsoft Sql Server Management Studio can only be used to connect to Sql Server 2000 and Sql Server 2005 servers".
Can I confirm it is because: the remote db is of SQL Server 2008?

Running DNS for internal addresses on two NetWare 6.5 sp7 servers.
External addresses are handled by our ISPs DNS. Typing nslookup on a
Windows XP PC returns the following.
*** Can't find server name for address x.x.x.x: Non-existent domain
*** Can't find server name for address y.y.y.y: Non-existent domain
*** Default servers are not available
Default Server: UnKnown
x.x.x.x and y.y.y.y are my two DNS servers. Why am I getting errors
such as "can't find server name..." and "default servers are not
available"? ...Which server should be DHCP/DNS server?
It makes sense that the BM server is also the DNS server - does it
matter which server is the DHCP server, perhaps in terms of speed of
logging in, etc.? Is it possible to have the DNS server be other than
the BM server?
Just want to know if this matters from a system design point of view.
Network in question has 4 Netware servers and 1 Windows server.

We have a mix of NetWare 6.5 and Windows Server 2008 DNS servers. There
is a forwarding zone in Novell that points to the Windows DNS servers
for the DNS zone abc.xyz.local. Most workstations are configured for the
DNS zone named xyz, so when they attempt to resolve a host name, they
append xyz (i.e. webserver.xyz). Novell is primary for the xyz zone, and
the workstations point to Novell, so it resolves properly.
A few workstations are domain-joined, so they append abc.xyz.local (the
AD domain name), turning webserver into webserver.abc.xyz.local. They
also point to NetWare DNS, wh...Managed server list in NRM using DNS name instead of IP address
Hi all. When I go into NRM and go to the bottom link and click on managed
server list it brings all of my servers up just fine. However as I move
the mouse across the server names I see the DNS name instead of the IP so
when I click on the applicable server it goes to page can not be found.
If I enter the IP address manually everything is OK. My question is where
can I go to change the link from using the DNS name to the IP. Example:
dmznoell.com is what it shows when it should show http://192.168.60.5

I've set up a test BM server for testing BM3.8/NW6.5 along with
surfcontrol and linkwall.
I have noticed that there is a substantial delay in access sites for the
first time, I originally had the BM server pointing to internal DNS
hosts and then our external DNS server. When I put the external first,
and internal second, page loads are almost immediate, even on new sites.
What is the recommended order on BM server, if all it is doing is BM
services? BM isn't doing any DNS of its own.

When I go to the managed servers there are servers missing that have
been there for some time. I was chasing a possible slp issue at first
but I check the slp.cfg on these servers and they are pointing to the
right da, NDS is replicating to these servers, I can get remote access
fine, so communication seems to be working. I was trying to install
symantec corporate anti-virus, the one particular server does not show
up as an option and that is when I noticed it wasn't in the managed
server list either. Any help is appreciated. (all servers are NW6 SP5)

There really isn't that much to it. What components are you using?
The bigest pain will be modifying all your applications and changing the
source path to point to the new server.
