ZDM7 SP1 Hot Patch (ZENworks 7 Desktop Managment SP1 Hot Patch 1)

The hotpatch has resolved my Optiplex GX745 boot issue, however I would like
to throw out some observations.

We have a script that reads the Image Safe Data and these are the changes I
have notices.

`zisview Name` used to return the PC name value from the image safe data,
now it has changed to `zisview ComputerName`
`zisview Wrokgroup` used to return the workgroup value from the image safe
data, now it has changed to `zisview WindowsWrokgroup`

is the purpose of changing these attribute names a path forward for
something in the future?

On another note, can anyone who has tested their image with a 745 tell me if
the restore is slow for them. Our image usually goes down in under 5
minutes, but on the 745 it took over 12 minutes.

is still showing the parameter `Workgroup` and not `WindowsWorkgroup`

good info though

I downloaded the zip file and burned to a disc, and when I run the
installation, I get to the first screen and it prompts for the disc! My
guess is there is a problem with the way I am extracting and burning the
disc. Is there a Hot Patch .iso file for download?

I have to change the SATA Operation to Legacy to detect and partition
the hard drive on my 745s. It slows it down quite a bit. I put it back
to Normal after the image is pulled and before Windows goes into
Sysprep.

ZENworks 7 SP1 Hot Patch 2
After installing Hot Patch 2 to resolve the issues with the Dell Optiplex 745, we are experiencing issues imaging Dell Optiplex GX270 PCs, as mentioned in this TID# 3692737. Does anyone come up with a solution other than the solution mentioned in the TID(uninstalling Hot Patch 2)? Until a fix is ready, I have found that adding acpi=off to the z_auto.cmd and z_maint.cmd files in the TFTP directory helped me. I have since heard that this settings doesn't always work. Also, doubling your RAM from 512MB to 1GB works too. Just don't have the money for that solution ;) Here&...

HTML View problem with GW7 sp1 hot patch 1
We're experiencing a problem with the message body where when a GW user sends a message and the recipient replys the actual message txt is displayed and beneath it you get the "Text.htm follows" with the same message in HTML code. Also if a user attaches a picture we get the image code in the message body and if text from a Word or W.P. doc is pasted in the message body it inserts random garbage characters through-out. I get worse with Hot patch 2. We've set message compose and views to both text only and HTML with no results. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance. no...

GroupWise 7 SP1 Agents Hot Patch rev 2
In gw701ahp2.exe they list 3 new poa abends being fixed: 196580 - fix poa abend. 196916 - fix poa abend. 199777 - fix poa abend. These don't match up to TID numbers? How do I find out specifically what type of abend the 3 above issues (I presume these are internal Novell numbers?) refer to? I'm experiencing abends which initially started on 1 POA, but now is starting to show up on another POA at another server. I'm wondering if I should take the chance on the hot patch? While we're on it, I presume these hot patches are a prelude to GW7 SP2? Is there a ...

Post 7.0.1 Hot Patches
What is the conventional wisdom regarding the Hot Patches to GW 7.0.1? I just upgraded our GW 6.5.5 system last week to 7.0.1 and things went much better than I had hoped or dreamed. The servers are running smoothly and I don't want to rock the boat, but we have run into a problem with backup. gw701ahp1.exe supposedly fixes the problem that the TSAFSGW.NLM is not compatible with SMDR in TSA5UP19; so I really think that I should apply the patch, but I thought I'd better ask this list first before applying it to our production systems. For that matter, what about gwia70...
