PXE - put image on workstation at next boot not working

I have recently upgraded this server to NW6.5SP6 with post SP6 patches. I
have also upgraded ZfD from 4.0.1 IR 6 to ZfD 7 w/SP1. I have also
installed HP5 for ZfD7.

Now, if in C1 I select a workstation and tell it to put an image on it on
next boot, the workstation does not see any work and continues to boot its
OS.

The wokrstations have integrated 3Com NICs.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Steve D.

PS

It was working before the upgrade.

It looks like it is a timing issue. I booted a machine that was setup for
PXE image at next boot and it imaged this morning. very strange?

I will run the debug and see what is going on.

While that is what I thought as well, I have yet another interesting
bobble. It would appear it may be agent related. If I take a newly
imaged workstation (with the ZfD 7 agent installed) and select that
machine to be reimaged on next boot, it works as expected. On the next
boot, the system will begin the image process.

Does that change where we should be looking? I have not run the debug yet
because I have techs using the imaging server right now. I will unload
imgsrv and reload with debug in the morning before anyone else arrives.

Thanks for your insight.

First, let me say thank you for your time. Having these groups available
and so active is a great resource and another reason that I am a big
Novell fan!

I can reproduce the problem. Any system that is powered on with the ZfD 4
agent installed and registered with NDS will not image through PXE when an
image is assigned to install on next boot. If I manually image the same
system with the new image (Zfd 7 Agent installed), after the install
finishes and the system is then logged in, PXE imaging works fine.

I have another oddity too. I have my workstation import policy set to
show: Computer, MAC and OS. On the systems with ZfD 7, the OS does not
appear in NDS.

Thanks again for all your input.

hmm.. looks like the zdm 7 server doesn't like your zfd4 imagesave data..
what happens if you upgrade the agent?

Thanks again for your input.

The problem appears to be rather simple. Apparently, the original imports
were before the last imaging cycle on these systems. The systems did not
have the hosts entry for their ZWSIMPORT server. After adding the entry
and restarting the PC and logging in for the first time, then we could
restart and use PXE to image the systems.

I had thought there might be an issue with the imaging agent as well but I
have another network that was upgraded and everything was working properly
over there.

It seems like I have my resolution.

Hi, I have a project where clients viewing my website can buy t-shirts. They can choose from a number of t-shirt colors and shapes which are their plain colour. They can also choose a number of prints to be placed on the t-shirt. These will be graphics stored in a database. My problem is on how I can displaty the t-shirt with the graphics or logo they chose on te t-shirt. It would be something like drawing text on an image but instead drawing an existing image on the base image. Any Ideas? (I am using visual studio 2005 and vb.NET)   RegardsMerovingian you 1. I am trying to display a page that has image of a map on it. The user can then place other images of red thumbtacks on the image at different locations. Then when these thumb tacks are clicked on, they open a folder of pics related to the area. I saw a method in the imageButton class that returns the (x,y) of the location where the user clicked. I thought I could use this information to place another, smaller image button, on that area. My problem is that i can't seem to get the bottom imageButton to be transparent so I can see the smaller one. Am i on the right track with this. Any advi...

Imaging, but not imaging
We multicasted to 43 machines. Updated the image on the master. Multicasted the updated image to 36 machines. (the other 7 wouldn't join the session for some unknown reason). Setting up Imaging with PXE
I am set up fairly well, but am having an issue that, hopefully, someone can enlighten me about. PXE is working and I am able to take an image from a workstation, then I can send that image back down to that workstation. I am unable to send that image down to any other workstation. I am also unable to send an image down to the original workstation it came from, if I change out the hard drive. The PXE environment seems to work OK, but the Transaction Server is, apparently, not showing that the workstation has work to do. If I change back to the workstations original hard driv...

Zenworks Imaging doesn't update workstation object after imaging.
Whenever I check the boxes for "put an image on this workstation on next boot" it never goes away. When we were using Zenworks 4.01, I could tell if the machine had started reimaging, because the check box would update. Now it doesn't, but the workstation reimages. Just wondering why it doesn't update. We're running Netware 6.0 SP5 and Zenworks 7 sp1. PXE imaging-default image
Right place/wrong place? I only see one thread in this forum on imaging...nothing on the other 4 zfd4 forums specifically to imaging so I could be in wrong place. I have managed to get PXE imaging to work, used it to take an image of a workstation that is what we want the rest of the units to look like. Now I want to use PXE to multicast this image to a ton of machines newly unpacked out of box. There is no workstation object for these dudes, they are new, never-before-been-on-the-network boxes. From what I've read, there is supposed to be a way to define a default imag...
