Error on snapshot : "File Copy Error ! Source File.........

Hi

I wonder if you can help. I am getting the error "File Copy Error! Source
File = C:\winnt\system32\Perlib_Perfdata_450.dat. Destination File =
\\servername\folder\filename.fil. Press ignore to skip. Retry to copy the
file again." when doing a snapshot of any application.

Workstation is installed with Windows 2000 Professional(SP3 with latest
critical updates) with NTFS File System.

I have already tried disabling Hibernation and Personalized Menus on the
PC just before running Snapshot, as per TID's 10070864 and 10064151. This
however has made no change to the error situation.

I also tried to cheat my way out of the problem by making a copy of the
previous .fil file (i.e. 23.fil if 24.fil is in error) and renaming it as
the missing .fil file. I created an application object in Consoleone. I
was then able to install the application on the workstation using NAL. I
am however, not aware if this will have any reprecussions on the
application.

Ideal solution would be to not get any errors when creating the snapshot
rather than cheating the way out of the problem.

Thanks for your help in advance.

you don't need those files... so ignore them and remove them afterwards
from the app object when you do the cleanup..

Dear Marcus

Many thanks for your reply. Please pardon my knowledge of Novell Netware,
but can you tell me how do I do the cleanup from the Application Object? I
have just browsed through the properties of the application object but can
not find any settings which will allow me to do a cleanup.

Thanks again for your help in advance.

like Dave already said..

you go to distribution

and there start from the top and through out stuff you don't want to be in
the app object...

like the perflib files, dhcp renewals etc..

there is even a tool on coolsolution and Axe from centralis.co.uk to help
you there..

How disable save file popup error message: file "could not be saved, because the source file could not be read." ; jor
When I save web pages (complete, not merely html, in order to save images) to my disk, while offline, I get about 10 pop up messages saying it can't load .js & .php files. I have to close each one of those 10 windows individually - a big waste of human time. Firefox 3.6.10 on Ubuntu Linux 10.4 Is there a way to 1) disable those info messages so they don't pop up, or 2) have ff put all the messages into merely one window, so I only have to close one window per web page. Quark "FIle locked -54" errors
Hi, Several users running Quark XPress 6.1 on Windows XPsp1 with client 4.9sp1a report that they keep getting errors indicating that a quark (qxd) file is in use and can't be opened. Checking the server (NW51sp7) monitor screen shows that indeed one of them has the file open when in reality (at the workstation end) they do not. Anyone seen this before/have a suggested solution? They're getting pretty cranky at having to keep restarting their computers. Thanks in advance. Jim, See if the latest nwfs.sys helps: http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?...
