NDPS header and footer on print job

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

I have an Okidata 591 impact printer setup through NDPS via a HP JetDirect
500x. The top line reads "12345X@PJL COMMENT *Start of NDPS Job*" and the
end of the print job reads "12345X@PJL EOJ".

How in the world do I get rid of this?

Thanks in advance.

I had something similar in the past, dunno the exact name: There's an option
in Jetdirects configuration to enable/disable PJL - change this setting.
Some printer (I think we used an EPSON type...) don't understand it.

Regards
Dirk

Sounds like a winner except I have been all over the jet directs settings
and cannot seem to find this option. Any additional help is appreciated...
not that I want someone to hold my hand.

NDPS print jobs do not print completely
Please help. We are having problems on multiple HP Jetdirect printers when using NDPS. The jobs are not printed completely, the last few pages do not get printed. - When printing from a windows XP client directly to the IP adress of the JetDirect card (bypassing the NDPS agent) the job prints out fine. It looks like this might be a solution: "Solution ID : 1.0.47361435.2480167 Here is the solution: Some print jobs getting truncated. Set the default capture timeout to 10 seconds" But where do I set this, and how? Hi Which gateway are you u...

NDPS and Print jobs
Hi, We use NDPS printers here and we noticed that users can only remove their own print jobs (using standard WinXP print jobs). We would like to enable teachers to be able to remove any print jobs. I found if I add teachres to the "Operator Role" in iManager, they can remove all jobs. Is ther any way to do it fast for all printers (in one step) or maybe there is a better way/utility? Thank You. Please post this in the novell.support.iprint or novell.support.ndps-neps forums, thanks. -- Andrew C Taubman Novell Support Forums Volunteer SysOp http://support.novell.com/forum...

NDPS/iPrint vs Non-NDPS printing
I am having a major battle with my boss over the subject of NDPS/iPrint. I want to implement it but he doesn't feel that we need it. He thinks we are too small for such a solution! We have 150 users locally and 28 networked printers (Xerox, HP, Lexmark, etc.). I think the benefits are many, but I can't seem to articulate them well enough to convince him. Can you guys/gals help me come up with a top 10 reasons why we should use NDPS/iPrint? What are the pluses and minuses of going with and without it? Thanks so much! Well perhaps if you could tell us more ab...

NDPS job print error
I've posted this before but have been asked to repost. NW5.1, SP8e running PCounter - printing to queue is problematic at best. Error message appearing on the system console is: QueueUpRequest cmdCode: 208, ccdoe -705. No datestamp, no idea what printer queue it was generated from if, indeed, it come from a queue. Restarting the server almost always restore printing but only for a short time. In far too many cases, printing from any applications "hangs" the application. (If you wait up to 20 minutes or so, the app might come back). The print job might appear in ...

NDPS failed print jobs
Hi, Guys, I need a little advice. Netware 6.0 SP3 is the server. I have setup NDPS printing and tested it all before I went 'live'. It all seemed to work alright, so I pushed it out to other departments (big mistake, I chose the Accounts/Payroll department). Problem 1. There is a HP LJ6P printer using the HP gateway which does not print the whole job. On an Excel spreadsheet (single page document) it prints the whole of the left hand column but only about half of the rest of the sheet. On a small text document like an email printout, it only prints about half. Th...

NDPS print jobs hang
I'm running NDPS on NW6.5sp2. Recently, some NDPS printers are hanging while printing jobs. Sometimes, if I just go to the NDPS Manager at the console and shutdown the printer and restart it, it will continue working OK. Other times shutting down and restarting the printer will not work. The print job will start printing then hang and I'll have to shut it down and delete everything out of the Q. I read that HP is no longer going to be supporting their HP gateway for NDPS and recommend using Novell's gateway. I'm not sure if using HP's gateway could be causing a pr...

Tracing NDPS print jobs
I am looking to find out what users printed what job. Is there any way to trace back to the user what they have printed? I know through the NDPS manager you can see it as it prints, but how do you look in previous records? I have Novell 5.1, Zen 4. Rerouting NDPS print jobs
Hi, we are moving over to NDPS printing and it is working fine. We are currently using queue based printing and just reassign print queues when a printer is down for maintenance. I have not been able to find information on how I would do the same in NDPS. I have found information on how to take jobs that are currently in the job list and assign them somewhere else (manually) but I obviously don't want to do that if this situation goes on for a few days. If someone could point me to a TID that describes how to route all the jobs going from one NDPS printer to another, it would...

print jobs not deleting from NDPS
Hi, I am running NW5.1 sp6a with NDPS 2.1.7. Printing to a Canon Imagerunner 400S with the Canon GW 1.10. Jobs will be printed but are not deleted from the printer spooler folder. When looking at the printer agent, the status is "printing" when the printer is idle. I have deleted the printer agent and NDS objects and recreated them several times. This does not change anything. I have to delete the spool files manually by shutting down the agent and deleting them through explorer. I could not find any options selected to retain the jobs after printing. Does any one ...

Netware 6.5 SP8 / NDPS / NDPS Printing Tabs
I was wondering if anyone else has seen this issue. Last week, we've upgraded our file/print servers from NW65SP7 to NW65SP8 along with all the available public patches. (ie., iprntnw65sp8a) Since the server update, I've noticed that if click on any of the following tabs from a Windows client, printer properties, the workstation will hang. Large NDPS print jobs restart
Hello, I'm having possible problem with NDPS. Whenever anyone starts a large print job (5 mb and over). The print job starts at the very beginning when there is a pause to reload paper. This only happens with NDPS. When this is done with IP printing the print job starts where the last page ended regardless of what size the job is. The printers are HP 4100 if that matters Thanks for your help, S.Noc NDPS/iPrint will restart a non finished job whenever the connection to the printer is lost. So the question boils down to why the NDPS manager lo...
