UserApp 3.6.1 gets 504 errors with NAM 3.1.1 IR2

I'm front-ending IDM UserApp 3.6.1 (patch C) with NAM 3.1.1 IR2

It mostly works.

Until I go into the admin section and go to Portlet admin

I click the little "plus" sign to expand the portlets.

Then I find the portlet (I've tried the 3 common ones - Detail, Search,
and Org Chart).

I then click the "plus" next to the portlet and it expands to show me
the registered portlet.

If I then click on the registered portlet to actually administer it,
NAM immediately throws a:

Status: 504 Gateway Time-Out
Description: Lost connection to origin server.
If this condition persists, please contact the helpdesk. 

If I bypass NAM then it all works fine.

IDM UserApp 3.5.0 works fine with NAM.

Is there some peculiarity with the URL strings that would cause NAM to
give such an error (everything else works fine).

Anything in the User App logs when this happens?

Nope, not a thing.

(Other than it shows me logging in and that's about it).

NAM's throwing up the error REAL quick-like though.

I wonder if I may have to purge cache, although I set up the pin list
like the cool solutions article said to 
bypass /IDM/*

Anything in the LAG logs?

Not that I can tell, but right now I'm having lots of issues with NAM so
the logs are HUGE (debug logging of course).  I flushed the cache and it
seemed to fix it.

Other issues seem to be due to IDP/LAG communication/target/cookies,
but I probably found another bug.

AM 3.1 and Userapp 3.6.1 integration
We are using AM3.1 and UserApp 3.6.1 When password expires we want users redirected to Change Password(/jsps/pwdmgt/PasswordChange.jsf) screen. 3.1.0 to 3.1.1
Ok... I did the following: 1) made a backup of the web.config. 2) extract the 3.1.1 package over the 3.1.0 package at the host. 3) replaced the 3 keys in the web.config (the sql, MachineValidationKey, and MachineEncryptionKey) 4) I then browsed to the site. From 2.1.2 to 3.1 or 2.1.2 to 3.0.13 to 3.1
I'm checking back in after being away for a couple of months and I missed the 3.1 release. I can't seem to find any info on what's new in 3.1 and also what the upgrade path should be. So, is the recommended path for upgrading from v 2.1.2 to go directly to 3.1 or do I need to go to 3.0.13 first? Are there any big issues in 3.1 that make it a "gotta have it" version?I did a couple of 2.1.2 to 3.0.12 upgrades but haven't upgraded to or tested 3.1 yet. UserApp 3.6.1 with IDM 3.5.1
Im guessing the answer is no, but does anyone know if the 3.6.1 userapp can be used with IDM 3.5.1 as the engine? For various operational reasons I'm not at a place yet where I can move to 3.6.1 IDM, but I'm in need of some of the features that come with the 3.6.1 userapp. (dynamic global queries to be exact). Hi all, I looked in documentation but hadn't found something about how to work with roles-based and access manager. I have an eDir with roles-based and a NAM that only sees groups or attributes when making an IS role. Another way that I think is create another tree to web authentication (that I alread have) and �transform� roles in identity vault to groups in web tree.
