Problems installing a new NetWare 6.5 SP1a Server in an existing tree
Hi, after installing a new NetWare 6.5 SP1a server in an existing tree (mixed of 6.5/5.1 and 4.20 with the latest ds.nlm) my group everyone get corrupted. I'm not able to see and filesystem rights. When I try to insert a filesystem right, C1 or NWadmn32 tolds me, that it is not possible to add the fs-right. Because of problems with the group everyone, the clients have trouble to map several volumes. The only way to get out of this was to delete the object and add it again. My Directory-Tree was healthy (all processed = yes). I checked them before adding the new server. Also I run dsrepair after implementing the new server. Well, I have to upgrade several servers from 5.1/4.20 to NetWare 6.5. Is there any change to avoid such trouble.

Firstly the NW 4.x servers need DS 6.21, and in the ds621.exe readme is a Set commend that must be applied to all those servers. The "rights" issues actually sound like licensing. We intend to install a new SAN which will be clustered using 2 new Netware 6.5 Servers. Netware 6.5 install into Netware 5.1 Tree
I was able to install my first Netware 6.5 server into my Netware 5.1 tree but I have a couple issues. I already had 400 Edirectory Licenses installed so I didn't install any Netware 6.5 Client licenses. When I changed the login script to map to the new server no one accept admins could map any drives. We were getting 8901 error codes. Do I need to install client licenses to make this go away? Also no replicas of the master Netware 5.1 server was installed on the Netware 6.5 server, so how do I force the new server to hold a read/write replica of the master. Thanks ...

Netware 6.5 install into existing 6.0 tree
I installed Netware 6.5 sp2 on a new server into our existing tree (NW6 eDirectory 8.6.2). Everything installed fine but when I started to create directories and assign rights users could not see and volumes except for sys: (the login directory). It seems only trustee assignments for Public would work. Admin users can see everything. The only way I can get it to work is by using Console One to assign the trustee..any ideas on why explorer would not work?
