and use same nds etc? And what if I need to purchase the Netware 5, is
it a problem upgrading the nw 5 small business server?
Thanks

Fair question -- I don't think they can use the same OU -- they
certainly don't use the same licenses.
You can purchase NetWare 5.0 -- discontinued.

Migrating two Netware 5 Sp7 Servers to 1 Small Business 6.5I am looking for suggestions on migrating 2 NW5.0 SP7 servers (Within one
tree) to One Small Business 6.5 (Sp2) server.
Do you run the Migration Wizard on both source servers seprately for File
migration & the Migrate NDS once... Kind of conused on the process here.
Any Help would be greatky appreciated.

Netware & GroupWise 6.5 versus Small Business Suite 6.5?I couldn't find a great forum to put this in, so this is the closest thing.
We're currently running NW 5.0 and GW 6.5 and have the NW 6.5 licenses and
media in hand, ready to be upgraded to in January.
The time has come for me to renew my upgrade protection, and I'm wondering,
is there any reason I shouldn't buy the licenses and upgrade protection for
small business server 6.5 instead? It would seem that, for the same amount
of money, I now will get NW 6.5, GW 6.5 and and older version of Zen (which
will allow me to use "roaming profiles").

Netware 5.0 to Netware 6.5 migrationMy corporation recently acquired a company with a single Netware 5.0
server. We have already installed a new Netware 6.5 server at their
location that is part of our global eDirectory tree. Their old NW 5.0
server is on its own indepentent tree. What is the best method to migrate
their users, groups, data, trustees, and printers to our global tree. We
have already created a container for them in our global tree. I looked at
the SCMT tool from Novell but I think it is designed to migrate/upgrade
servers that are in the same tree. Any suggestions besides a manual
creation of user...
Migration from Netware 5.0 to Netware 6.5I am install new hardware and new netware. The old server is running
NW5.0 and the new one will be running NW 6.5. Is ther an easy way to
move users and data from the old server to the new one. I know that I
will not be able to move the printer and will have to set all of them on
the new server. We have about 800 users on the old server.
I think the current Server Consolidation and Migration tool supports a
5.0 source.
If not, you may need to get the earlier 6.5 Migration Wizard -- it is
available in the cool tools area.

Netware 5.0+Groupwise 6.0 -->> Netware 6.0+Groupwise 6.5Hi.
We've got a Netware 5.0 server running Groupwise 6.0 and we would like
to
upgrade it to Netware 6.0 with Groupwise 6.5. What's the safest way of
doing this? We've got a spare server where we can dump things
temporarily.
Should we upgrade Groupwise first or Netware?
Thanks...

Personally, I'd upgrade Netware first, make sure GW works in it's
current config and then upgrade GW....
Netware 5.0 sp6.0a to Netware 6.5 sp6.0 migration

File 'SYS:INSTALL' on BHS_SERVER was not found.

I have gone through all of the pre-migration steps and everything
checks out fine up until this poing. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.

Installing Netware 6.5 in a Netware 5.0 network
Currently have Netware 5.0 Servers sp4 and some sp5
We intend to install two new cluster servers running
the latest version so would like to install two 6.5
Netware Servers which includes a 2 node cluster.
Is it possible to install netware 6.5 into my existing
Netware 5.0 network.
Also we currently are running a 2 node cluster on netware
5 running the first ver of cluster servers 1.0.
We found that this version wouldnt support our subnet mask
of 255.255.240.0 but only the default one 255.255.255.0.
Can the new version of cluster services support 255.255.240.0
Regards.

Install a Netware 6.5 server into Netware 5.0 networkHi all,
Is anyone aware of any implications of doing the above? Running DS

Netware 5.0 to Netware 6.5 eDirectory failed during eDirectory migrationHello,
Does anyone have a recommendation for fixing a failed eDirectory Acrross
the wire migration?
The file migration went fine, the backup of trustess went fine.
During the eDirectory migration when it downed the source server and tried
to finish up with the destination server it did not complete.
It told me to copy the autoexec.mig to autoexec.ncg if it did not complete.
It also had some other files to copy over as well, but I don't know what
they are.
