Groupwise client Proxy server

We are experienceng some difficulty with sporatic connection issues for
groupwise clients that come accross the internet to connect to our post
office. Generally the client goes into a "not responding mode". we
can't seem to see a consistent pattern on what is causing it.

I was wondering if setting up a Proxy server for that connection would
help. I see the instructions for what to do in the post office setup,
but I am at a loss on how to set up a proxy server. How would it be
different than a static NAT on my firewall?

Also, for what it is worth, I see UDP traffic at my remote groupwise
client that is not going the same route as the rest of my groupwise
client traffic. What does UDP do for the client? Is it tied to the
rest of the session in any way?

automation server to client and client to server

One of the applications will work primarily as a server and will launch the other application. The newly launched application needs to be able to send occasional information to the server to update information in the application that launched it. Also, if the user attempts to close the launched application it needs to tell the launcher application to close the appl ication that it launched. Does this sound practical? This is kind of like launching wo...
