You can think of the settings in C1 as a "template" - so once the user has
run GW once, these settings are already "there".

There are two ways to "push" settings to users. The first is "reset client
options" - it's important to understand though that this resets ALL client
options, and so should not be used lightly. The second is to "lock" the
settings in ConsoleOne - you will notice a little padlock next to many
settings. If this is set and then locked, the users will get these settings
immediately (well, at least on their next launch of GW). These cannot be
changed by the user though.

Hi Danita,

I can't push the client options out the client no matter what I do. I
even uninstalled the client and then reinstalled the client. Still the
client has HTML disabled and locked. Meanwhile the client settings at the
domain level have HTML selected and locked.Any ideas?

TIA

We have looked into this issue and found problems in both 6.5.x and 7.0.
We have made fixes in the Windows Client for both of these code bases.

Expect to see these changes in 6.5.6 and 7.0.1 when they release.

Slow login into Windows GroupWise Client without Netware Client installed
Hi, Customers GroupWise version is GroupWise 7.02HP1a with GroupWise 702 Agent Hot Patch 2 Rev 1 SP2 installed on a Netware 6.5 SP6 Server. The users don't have access to the Netware filesystem (no Netware cient, cifs or anything else). The login needs nearly a minute after entering the login credentials. I tried to remove the sdd - same problem. Although I know GroupWise 7 supports a restore area without direct file access I removed the postoffice from the member list of the restore area - same problem. Maybe I have to reboot the poa after doing that? I cross-checked wi...

OpenVPN client to client
Been using Open VPN and Hamachi for over a year now very successfully on several networks. I use them mostly for VNC maintanance. One problem I cannot figure out. I cannot get OpenVPN to function like Hamachi in allowing client to client connections. I have looked thru the documentation and it seems I need an XP computer as a server. Plus, I am not expert on VPN. Any down and dirty advise or point me to an example of a server and client config example? Thanks Art It's unfortunate, and somewhat sad. We could all be "OpenVPN Experts" if someone *co...

After closing the Windows Client, the client did not start again
Hallo, one of our customers has the following problem: He close the groupwise client and when he wants to start the client again the client did not start again. (The customer thinks it is a good idea to close the client for housekeeping (-; ) I think the problem is, that some parts of the client stay in memory (i.e.: gwsync) and when the client should start again, the client see those parts and think he is still running. Someone an idea how to solve the problem? Is there a way to force the start of groupwise? Here the information about Windows and the Client: ...

Groupwise Client with 2nd Imap or POP3 Client
I have a customer running GW6 on a nw6 server. Their email/webmail is working great. A few of them have email address from another non groupwise server. I set up a second pop3 account to go to a folder that I created(also tried to send it to the inbox.) Groupwise shows that is downloading messages 1/5 or however many, but I can not find them anywhere. The log shows that it downloaded everything. On the same note the other server also runs imap. I can set up a Imap account, it will show me the header with a little half envelope beside them. I can not get it to open the ent...

Lock down client options but different for one client
I have my domain set to not allow auto delete of emails, and this client option is locked at the domain. There's one mailbox in a P.O. under the domain that I need to have set to auto delete after 90 days. I tried unlocking the setting at the domain, then setting it at the client as I needed, locking it, and then I went back and locked the domain setting so that the other mailboxes stayed with their setting. This unfortunately set my auto delete 90 days back to the domain setting of not auto deleting. Any way to do what I need? I just want everyone not to be able to set this...

Mac and linux client bounce when Windows Client does not ?
Trying to understand whats going on here... think it has something to do with either Aliases or how the msg is being directed ? Basically have 2 separate groupwise servers that of course send back and forth to each other... The problem only occurs when the msg originates from server A and someone at Server B uses reply with Linux or Mac Client. A reply with Windows Client would work flawlessly.... Also replies within each server to a msg originating from that server are fine. the email format at Server A is firstname.lastname.... when reply is punched from a user receiving it ...

open windows client application from web client
Hello, How can i open a windows client from my web client application? I read about this a long time ago. Can someone please provide me with documentation and examples to learn from.   Regards, There are two ways: 1) use an ActiveX control. The user has to agree to install it. With an ActiveX control,  you can do almost anything. 2) for well-known file extensions such as xls and doc, you can just put a link to the file. When the user clicks on the link, the application will open. The application (Excel, Word, etc.) needs to be installed on the user's computer for this to...

Client 4.9.1 and groupwise client
I have just upgraded from client 4.9.0 to 4.9.1. Under 490 I was able to check the Single Sign on button on my groupwise notify (6.5.4) and not have it ask for the password every time. Now that I have loaded 491 I check the box but it doesnt have an affect. I have checked the Single sign on check box in the clients properties. Any ideas? upgrade client from 4.01b to IR client or 6.5 client?
Should I upgrade client agent software from version 4.01b to 4.01 IR5? We are licensed for the ZENworks 6.5 suite, so I'm not sure if it's too much work to move to the IR5 release for 4.01 or go directly to the agent for 6.5? Also, what's the best way to do that? Using a ZENworks msi object doesn't seem to work - services are running and it' can't unload them. Are users are on Windows XP and have limited accounts. We have a mix of ZENworks 3.2 agents (older pc's) installed via the Novell client 4.8x and 4.01b installed with Novell client 4.9. Than...

Linux client and windows client have differient Signature files

In GW7, they added HTML signatures to the win32 client. However the xplat & web (WebAccess) clients still only support text clients. In Bonsai, the xplat client is supposed to also support HTML sigs AFAIK, but they may not make it into WebAccess. I've pestered a number of people about also getting i...
