Netware 5.0+Groupwise 6.0 -->> Netware 6.0+Groupwise 6.5
We've got a Netware 5.0 server running Groupwise 6.0 and we would like
upgrade it to Netware 6.0 with Groupwise 6.5. What's the safest way of
doing this? We've got a spare server where we can dump things
Should we upgrade Groupwise first or Netware?

Personally, I'd upgrade Netware first, make sure GW works in it's
current config and then upgrade GW....Upgrade 6.0 to 6.5 with Groupwise 6.5
Any issues with upgrading a Netware 6.0 latest sp server to Netware 6.5
sp4 with Groupwise 6.5 latest service pack on it?

Should be fine -- SBS 6.5 and 6.6 shipped with 6.5 SP1b and then SP3
and GroupWise 6.5.4.
One thing though, why SP4 on the NW 6.5 server? I'd go with SP5 plus
the post SP5 update package.

I have a user that can log into his email on Groupwise 6.0 and open his
email. When he logs into Groupwise 6.5 he can see his email but he
cannot open it. Is there a reason why he can't do this? If there is a
way to fix this problem any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

...GroupWise 5.2 -> 6.0 No internal email with 6.0 client
We recently migrated from NetWare 4.11 to NetWare 6.0.
That went great. We also migrated from GroupWise 5.2 to GroupWise
That worked great, but we still have an issue that is yet to be
resolved. Originally, we had that little issue with Frequent Contacts
being corrupted. Even though we ran repairs on the email database,
resolution we ended up having all of the users delete employee
references out of Frequent Contacts. This has worked great for the
client. When I installed the GroupWise 6 client, the client is again
unable to send email to internal accounts. W...GroupWise 6.0 SP4 asks for GroupWise 6.0 CD
I have tried to install GW6SP4e tonight and it wont go further than to ask
for the "6 CD" so, I was wondering, as the disk is damaged (and we insalled
from GW601 CD) what was I overlooking or is there a manual install
Lunch for the first working solution.
You need the gw*.dc files from the original CD or an original SDD - if your software distribution directory has a domain and a po directory in them with these files, rather than the CD you can just point to this directory during the install.

We have Netware 5.0 (SP6a) with Groupwise 6.0. We are planning to
upgrade to Groupwise 6.5. Our company consists of 4 main offices with
several smaller offices. Are there any problems with mixing versions
Groupwise between offices? There would be a period when some offices
would be on 6.0 and some on 6.5, until everyone was upgraded. I have
heard that we would need both versions, 6.0 and 6.5, of the GWIA. Is
that true? Thanks...
The upgrade is a top down process.

Now you can upgrade the secondary domains

You should have no trouble going straight to 6 from 4. Once you do this, go
back and get rid of the obsolete function calls.

It stops before the license agreement saying I cannot do this because I

I believe the in place upgrade from 6.0 to 6.5 is launched from the GUI
on the server.

Question: Can I move a GW user from a 6.0 PostOffice (in a secondary doamin) to a (newly created) 6.5 PostOffice (in a newly created Primary domain)?
We currently have a single domain/single P.O. 6.0 server supporting 150+ users. It is an old, slow server that is almost out of disk space. The goal is to get everyone onto the new spiffy, larger, faster server and get us to 6.5 in the process.
1) Not comfortable upgrading the currnet server to 6.5. There is only 4% free space on the drive(s).
2) Can't copy the doamin/P.O. to a new server. Based on the amoun...Groupwise 6.0 to 6.5 upgrade #3
Our current configuration consists of one Tree, two Os, 3 OUs, and

Hi all. I had posted before but did not receive answer I needed, though
it was through my own ineptitude. All who reply here, people like me
appreciate it more than you know! I'm moving from Groupwise 6.0 to
groupwise 6.5. It says to save the PO and mailbox, etc... I noticed it
says something about using GWTSA which I am NOT familiar with. I use
legato networker now. Is it enought to just use networker or do I need
to incorporate it into this GWTSA?
If I do need to set up my back up software how do I tell it to use this
(I am not sure what GWTSA is/does). Thanks mu...
