Groupwise Client with 2nd Imap or POP3 Client

I have a customer running GW6 on a nw6 server. Their email/webmail is
working great. A few of them have email address from another non
groupwise server. I set up a second pop3 account to go to a folder that I
created(also tried to send it to the inbox.) Groupwise shows that is
downloading messages 1/5 or however many, but I can not find them anywhere.
The log shows that it downloaded everything.

On the same note the other server also runs imap. I can set up a Imap
account, it will show me the header with a little half envelope beside
them. I can not get it to open the entire email though. When I click on
the message it just sit there. I have changed the option to force it to
download everything, then it will not show me anything.

On the same machine, I setup the same POP3/Imap accounts on Netscape and
they worked.

Yes. I have done numerous searches for the messages and can not find them

Hi,

Judging by the symptoms we have the exact same problem. We are running GW6
SP4 128 bit on a NW6 server as well. Workstations are running Windows XP.

On some of the clients GW says it is downloading and deleting POP3 mails
from the external POP3 server but it only deletes! I have checked by webmail
and the mails GW should have downloaded are gone and they were there before
GW got started. If i tell GW to leave the messages on the POP3 server the
download just stalls and the GWSYNC module has to be killed in the process
manager.

I have seen the last mentioned behaviour before on everything from Windows
95 to Windows XP workstations but I have never seen the deletion but no
download problem before. The combination of problems - deletion or
stalling - makes the POP3 features in GW completely unusable for our purpose
as we cannnot trust GW to download our business mails.

Generally I am not very impressed with the POP3 module in GW6. We have had
problems with the GWSYNC module since we got GW6.

Groupwise Client as a POP3 client--SMTP doesn't work as a 'send'
Our company was just acquired (never happens these days) by another company that has an exchange server. We're trying to keep our GW for at least the near future and want to just 'POP' and SMTP through the Exchange server. I can receive messages no problem, but can't send. When I send, I get the super-duper descriptive error message, 'Service not Available'. How do I track down where the SMTP is failing? I can send from Outlook Express, so I assume it's something within the Groupwise client that is having issues with the SMTP service on the Exchange serve...
