BM proxy use other proxy server - https

Hi,
We have set up BM 3.8 proxy to use other proxy (CERN).
HTTP is ok, but it seems that the BM proxy is not sending
HTTPS request to this proxy.
When we try BM proxy directly to internet all is Ok.
(both http and https)

Any special setup for HTTPS to other proxy server??

Magne

Thanks.
So the only things to do is these 2 lines in the end of
sys:ets\proxy\proxy.cfg:
[Extra Configuration]
IcpBypassOrigin=1

And enable "must only forward through hierarchy" in the "cache hierarchy
client"

????

Yes and No.
Yes, just those two lines.
No, I don't believe you need the "must forward" enabled if you are using
CERN. CERN always forwards, no need for the "must forward" selection.
(CERN acts like an ICP with the "must forward" enabled.)

The other choice (if you can't get this to work) is to add an exception
for port 443.

What DNS server is used when using a proxy server?
Hey to all :) When you are using an anonymous proxy-server for the internet what happens with the translation of typed URLs to the IP address? What DNS server is used for the URL translation of the websites you visit? 1. The DNS server of your ISP or 2. the DNS server of the anonymous proxy server? Or in other words, who manages the URL translation for the visited websites: your ISP or the anonymous proxy server? How to configure proxy generated by VS.NET to use Proxy Server?
Is it possible to instruct the web service proxy code generated by VS.NET to use a proxy server for outbound traffic?  I'm pretty sure it is possible to manually edit the source code generated by VS.NET, but I don't want them to be overwritten everytime I sync with the WSDL.Thanks in advance.Jason Create a new derived class which inherits from proxy class and make all custom changes to the derived class.program against your derived class, that way where ever you will regenerate your proxy class, you changes in derived class will not be overriden.http://vikasnetdev.blogspot.c...

to Proxy or not to Proxy ?
Hi all, Could I ask for some opinions regarding using a proxy ? Here in the UK, I use Freeserve as my dial-up ISP. There is a web-cache proxy available for use if required, tho' IE6 works fine with or without (a small increase in page loads occurs if I use the proxy). The problem is, that if I use the proxy, then my Outpost Firewall logs only register connections to it, so I suffer from a serious lack of information about where my browser connections are going and what I could block (like adclick connections etc). I'm really not sure about the merits of with/without the pr...

Proxy to proxy
Hi. We use BM 3.8 as a proxy server and the main task is to restrict which url's the users can use. In the network there is another proxy server with internet access. Is it possible to setup BM to use another proxy server to connect to internet? And if yes, how ? Magne Absolutely. Search under "Cache Hierarchy Client". Basically....enable the client on the BM box, add you upstream proxy (Neighbor Hostname) add the correct port for the type of upstream proxy, add the type of proxy, usually you can just leave the priority at "1". looks like this...

Are you using GWIA with Mail Proxy (like BM 3.8 Mail Proxy)
Hi, Presently we are using GWIA and BorderManager 3.8 Mail Proxy with Multiple Domain option. We want to activate Reverse lookup on the GWIA (Reject mail if sender's identity cannot be verified). Since I'm behind BM 3.8 Mail Proxy, all mail I receive are from the IP Address of my Mail Proxy. BorderManager Mail Proxy don't have the option to do Reverse Lookup (not find it that exist). BM proxy via other proxy
Hi. How can BM 3.8 connect to another proxy server (non BM) to get access to internet? Magne Magne, you've to configure a proxhy hierarchy. this is done in NWadmn32, Bm setup, HTTP proxy, details, cache hierarchy client. You've to configure a PArent proxy (this would be the proxy that your BM has to access to get to the internet). If you don't have access to the Internet AT ALL, unless you go through this upstream proxy, you should configure a CERN parent. -- Caterina Novell Support Connection Volunteer Sysop ...

Can OpenVPN server also be used as a proxy server?
Hi, I travel often and therefore run into the unsecured wireless / ethernet problem. In order to solve this I have an SSH and OpenVPN server running at home. I have a NAT router and all my machines also run a software firewall. All NAT ports are closed, so I'm using TOR to open port forwarding for SSH and OpenVPN. This means remote administration needs to be enabled on my ethernet router (argh, see no other way, unless I leave the ports open all the time). Unfortunately the router won't take an HTTPS connection, which is the reason for TOR (otherwise router pass...

How can I use a linux server as a proxy between a DataSnap server/client
I have a DataSnap Server that is behind a NAT firewall. I also have many DataSnap clients that need to connect to that server. I want to provide a connection proxy to help those two computers connect and transfer data.
