transporting settings/emails from mozilla-mail to mozilla-mailHallo,
I've got a really, really big problem. I'm working with mozilla-mail
on an Linux OS for about 2 or 3 years. Two months ago my harddisk
crashed. To keep on working , I set up a new Linux OS with the new
mozilla-mail. Now the harddisk is repaired. I could reach my mails and
setings (filter, accounts...) of the last 2 or 3 Years again, if I
knew how to import these information from the old system into the new
system.
Help needed, because I'm without any e-mail-address of the last 2 or 3
years.
Thanks Karsten

A way to reorder the mail/news accounts in Mozilla Mail ?I have many email accounts, mostly due to using temporary email
addresses. Each listserv/news server I belong to could have its own
account, and I use some more than others, so I would love to be able to
just drag those to the top of the list.
For instance, I have had this address for my news.mozilla.org nntp
account for better than a year but never felt the need to post anything;
since you are all doing such a wonderful job! ;-)
Many thanks!
Steve.

Mozilla Mail: mail download status, and interrupting the mail downloadHi,
1) Could Mozilla Mail provide better indication of mail download
status? On my home machine (Mozilla 1.4, Windows XP) all I get is the
progress bar and the activity lights on the modem. I think that an
Outlook Express-style window would be useful, showing current account,
current action (e.g. authenticating, donwloading message X of Y) and a
progress bar.
As it stands, it's hard to tell what's going on. Last night, someone
send me an 8MB email unexpectedly, and it took me quite a while to
realise what was going on. It seemed like Mozilla had just 'got stuck'

Mozilla mailI would like to see the possibility of creating a mail filter (either manually for from a given mail) and applying that
filter to all accounts.
I would also like to be able to export my mail filters - or even locate them centrally on my server, so that I can set
mozilla mail on several workstations to apply the same filters to all or chosen accounts.
Why? Because in my experience Mozilla's filters are the best way of managing mail archiving, filtering spam and keeping
inboxes - on multiple accounts - free of mails which would be better off in another folder - it just talkes too...
Opening Mozilla into Mozilla MailAt one time I had 2 Mozilla icons on the desktop. One opened Mozilla into
Mozilla Mail and the other opened Mozilla into Navigator. I've lost the
icons and can't remember how I did it. Can anyone help?

utilizing mozilla mail for read-only mailHi
I have a lot of mail on my machine - too much!
So what I want to do is move it onto cd. That is to say I want to move
say a mozilla account directory onto the cd and then use the mozilla
program to read the (backed up) email for that account.
I tried to do this but all I get when setting the directory location to
be the account location on cd, is the tree of mail folders for the
account (correctly displayed) with no messages in them. i.e. all the
mail folders are empty. Perhaps Mozilla was not designed with this in mind.
Can anyone suggest a workaround or a different s...

If kmail uses the standard Unix mbox format you can just copy the files
into your Mozilla profile folder.

How to read old mails of mozilla mail?Dear all,
After several re installations of the mozilla, I could not read all the
mails of the mozilla. I had several mail account folders with old
mozilla mailer. They are saved in the local hard disk with the
corresponding folders.
I can use only one of these folders. I would like to read all of these
old mails but I failed to finish combination work. The new mozilla rule
is largely different to the old one.
I tried to import the old mozilla mail, but no selection for mozilla is
available.
The old mail can be read only with a text viewer. Does anyone can help
me to ...
MailI asked the following question in the "general" NG and no one has
replied - so maybe I should post here. Can anyone comment on this matter?
Does anyone know if you can PASTE (using CTRL V) or right click & paste
a graphic that was copied beforehand using the clip board (Ctrl C)?
I need to be able to capture a screen shot or a web pic, or whatever
using the copy command, then I want to do a quick edit using Irfanview
and perhaps resize, adjust color, crop, etc. THEN PASTE into Moz Mail.
I had to switch to T-Bird to be able to do this as Moz mail could not do
it....
