Free WebDav server and remote calendar issues
Hey all, If you're not able to get WebDav setup on one of your servers or its too much hassle, check out http://www.sharemation.com. They allow you to setup a free webdav account that works great. I've been using mine for a couple years now. A couple weeks ago I finally started playing with the remote calendar stuff. I set up my Calendar to publish automatically to my sharemation account. Then, from my girlfriends computer subscribed to it. Worked like a charm except for a few things: -around 20% of the time, I get an error like, file can't be found. Which I'm guessing is the result of a timeout because it works most of the time. -If I have Alarm set for an event or task, the reminder pops up everytime I add or modify an event no matter how many times I acknowledge the reminder. Really annoying. Are these known issues? Are there fixes? Dave

You have to create yourself an account at Sharemation, http://www.sharemation.com/xythoswfs/webui?action=login&subaction=newuser They should then give you a directory (such as http://www.sharemation.com/~username) which you can use for webdav. You then go into Calendar and select the Calendars tab. Right click on My Calendar (or whichever one you want to publish) and select Publish Entire Calendar. Give it your information, Publishing URL http://www.sharemation.com/~oledave/Calendar.ics UserName and Password and then push publish. The Publish button will change to Close when its done. You should then be able to see the Calendar.ics file on your sharemation account. Subscribe to it from a different computer using the same settings. Hi, I'm running T'bird 17.0.2, Lightning 1.9, Provider for Google Calendar = 0.18 on multiple PCs running Window 7 Home Premium (64bit) and want to keep= calendars in sync... I have 2 calendars showing on Lightning - the original Lightning Home calen= dar and the downloaded Google calendar (G-cal). I am finding that entries = I make directly into the G-cal in Lightning transfer up to Google and back = to another PC without problem. Mozilla Calendar
I've recently started using Mozilla Calendar, and so far the features and user interface are almost exactly what I want... but (maybe) not quite. I use a hosted mail-server to keep my email in one central place - but access it from a number of different computers. IMAP is already configured and secured with a VPN, but I don't currently have a secured ftp service that I can access remotely (and using FTP is all I can find documented...) I notice the "Remote Server URL" option when creating new calendars... but I am unsure about the server configuration requireme...
converting sun calendar to mozilla calendar
Has anyone written a script that takes the SUN calendar format and converts it to a .ics format that can be imported into mozilla calendar? I started working on a script to do this but I figured that someone else had already been down this road. I'm trying to experiment with remote calendars. I've been following the following FAQ: http://www.twilight-systems.com/flacco/mozcal/mozcal-webdav.html It shows that when you subscribe or publish to a remote cal, you need to specify the URL and a user-id and password. My problem is that there are no textboxes for the user-id or password in either the subscribe or publish dialog boxes displayed by calendar. I'm using the Thunderbird extension version and the build is 2005/01/11. I've got it working without a user-id and password, but I'd like to impl...

We use GroupWise at our office using IMAP. Thunderbird will show the calendar events as a list (like emails) but not on an actual calendar view (day, week, month etc). Is there anyway to get these events to show up automatically in Mozilla Calendar? Is there anyway to click on a day as in GW Calendar and create a new event and sent it to a an email list, in either Mozilla Calendar or Thunderbird? I would really appreciate anyone's help. I am trying to subscribe to a remote calendar (on a WebDAV server) using Sunbird (20031011 standalone from http://files.oeone.net/mostafah2/).
