No need to import - simply move/copy your whole mail folder to the new
PC and tell TB where to find it.
Please ask again if you need more detailed instructions (or someone else
will probably provide them anyway).

Figured it out:
taskkill /im someprocess.exe
To "force" a kill (same as Linux's "kill -9 pid"):
taskkill /f /im someprocess.exe

What command line switch for thunderbird?Hello, I'm a new subscriber to this group. I've run into a problem
setting up filetype behavior for saved email messages.
I'm using DirectoryOpus as my file manager and it wants to use a command
line to launch thunderbird to read saved eml files. The line basically
looks like this:
"Path to Thunderbird.exe" some option or switch "Path to File.eml"
I think this was the format for when Outlook Express was in place...
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" / eml: "%1"
I've tried replacing the "/ e...
Thunderbird To Thunderbird #2Just downloaded and set up Thunderbird on my PC laptop.
I transferred my contacts from Opera to Thunderbird.
I set up a bunch of eMail Accounts.
I put fresh install on my desktop PC.
I see how to get the contacts from the laptop to the desktop.
How do I get the eMail account setup from the laptop to the desktop.
I do not see any export / import for that.
Is there a file to copy over?
Some utility to maintain the Accounts?

[thunderbird-feedback] thunderbird filter menu options extension requestHello Thunderbird-developers,
My mail system was netscape 4.79 with SUSE-Linux
and was updated to thunderbird 2.0.0.12 with WinXP
due to network problems on my new notebook. I will
switch back to linux as soon as my network problems
with linux get fixed.
I am missing the possibility to page up or down a
predefined number of filter list entries.
At the moment I have to manually click through every
single filter list item when repositioning a filter
setup for grouping filters in a convenient overall
look and feel, repositioning filter items that belong
to one another to be setu...
I wish *Thunderbird* supported all IMAP extensionsfu2: news:netscape.public.mozilla.wishlist
Hi,
I sometimes use Thunderbird to check my IMAP mailbox and I find it nice.
What I know is Thunderbird supports IDLE and QUOTA. ACL is not fully
supported: we can see the ACL but it is impossible to manage them - I've
never been able to manage them with Thunderbird or Mozilla.
If ACL are not managable now, is it planned to improve Thunderbird on
this point ?
IMAP keywords (ANNOTATE[MORE]) are now supported as Nancy McGough wrote
it on 2004 July 8.

A Command Line URL To Access Thunderbird MessagesHey All,
I'm currently working with some of the developers over at Gnome's Beagle
Project[1] and while we can index Thunderbird's Email content without
too much of an issue (the mbox backend is a huge help there, thanks
all!) our major issue in fully implementing a Thunderbird backend is our
inability to open a search result in Thunderbird.
For Example, say we have 3 emails in our Inbox Folder, if we want to
open email #2, we have no way to have Thunderbird open with the email in
question opened or even highlighted. While there has been speculation as
to possibl...
