Does Thunderbird support "Message Rules" for both POP and IMAP email accounts?

Does Thunderbird support "Message Rules" for both POP and IMAP email
accounts?

Just uncovered that with Windows Live Mail, one can't use rules for
IMAP or HTTP accounts.

Thanks in advance

DO NOT CROSSPOST
DO NOT CROSSPOST BETWEEN SERVERS!

If you want an answer, pick one news group and ask

if you continue to crosspost I will not respond

They are called Message Filters in Thunderbird, and they can apply to
both (or either) IMAP or POP

Additionally, Thunderbird comes with Junk Mail Controls (JMC) so you
don't have to set up anti-spam filters

Yes. Thunderbird also supports filtering on incoming messages for News
accounts.

You have to understand some consequences using the rules on IMAP
messages, though. Therefore, I only mark those message as deleted (see
Tb's Account Settings for the server).

Note: I dropped the other Newsgroup on this reply.

Thanks for the quick response. I will therefore start using
Thunderbird going forward. Sorry about the cross-posting -- didn't
know about this.
