migrating seamonkey 2.2

windows xp (currently bare of updates)
seamonkey 2.2 (exists on C and E disks)

I had to change boot disks and reinstall xp (not enough horsepower to run
win 7).

I installed 2.2 on the new C, closed it, copied all personal settings data
(the whole subfolder tree -- about 165 files) from E:\Documents and
Settings\Jim\Application
Data\Mozilla\SeaMonkey\Profiles\[oldgeneratedprofilename].default\
under the new same D & S tree on the new C:\.
I erased the new C:\ settings tree and renamed the top folder of the
copied tree portion to <newgeneratedname.default>

Restarted Seamonkey and the email was correctly populated with the old
accounts, emails, settings, etc.

However, the browser failed to populate all of the old settings (it did
populate maybe 1 percent or less).

What did I do wrong....please?
How do I repop all of the browser settings?

Thanks,

That sounds about the same as I would have done except there
is one other set of files I would have moved Import these
in the same way you did the other set. Hopefully these will
help: E:\Documents and
Settings\Jim\Local Settings\Application
Data\Mozilla\SeaMonkey\Profiles\[oldgeneratedprofilename].default\

I found two files there XPC.mf1 and XUL.mf1 and copied them with SM closed
but that did not do the trick, then I copied them with SM closed and
rebooted before I brought SM up. I am afraid that did not do the trick
either, but thanks for the suggestion.

Seamonkey 2.2
more cracks than the earth's crust. I have just downloaded a few minutes ago and I have a crashed browser. This has more problems than a child abuse victim Firstly I have lost almost all of my bookmarks bar; The bookmarks panel is a mess; my newsgroups were lost and had to be reloaded. Seamonkey 2.1/2.2 breaking Java plugin support on Centos 5 Linux?
I'm a long-time user of Seamonkey, from since it was called Mozilla. The recent 2.1 and 2.2 updates seem to have broken Java support on my Centos 5.5 box (32 bits) and I really can't figure this out. Seamonkey is installed in /usr/local. Starting from 2.1, the /usr/local/seamonkey/plugins directory is gone. As per the release notes, plugins are now managed on a per-user basis in $HOME/.mozilla/plugins So far, so good. I used to have a link in /usr/local/seamonkey/plugins pointing to /usr/local/jre1.6.0_12/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so (I install Sun's...

Hi, I will switch a computer from windows to linux and from Seamonkey 2.6.1 to Seamonkey 2.4.1 (I don't know why Ubuntu only have 2.6.1 on Precise alpha release). Seamonkey 2.2 to 2.3.1 Fer it or Again it?
So I got 2.2, a huge disappointment with lots of annoying bugs in mail and one big one in web (RMB context menu bug). The new level of issues makes me scared to update, even though this is the most buggy version of since perhaps Moz 0.6. So what are the big new 2.3.1 issues that were not in 2.2? Should I be scared or should I update? I have never had an update before 2.2 that I questioned going back before. hawker wrote: > So I got 2.2, a huge disappointment with lots of annoying bugs in > mail and one big one in web (RMB context menu bug). SeaMonkey 1.1.18 vs SeaMonkey 2.1 (if/when 2.1 is released)
I will clearly state that I am not a computer whiz...thus, I have a number of concerns regarding SeaMonkey 2.0 installation on my system. I have been reading the many SeaMonkey 2.0 messages on this newsgroup with some concern about my ability to fix the problems that could occur with the installation of 2.0. It seems that the move from 1.1.18 to 2.0 is not happening without a number of glitches along the way. Thus, in light of what I have read, I am wondering if it would wise for me to wait for a future release of SeaMonkey before upgrading my system...I suppose I am hoping tha...

SeaMonkey 2.16.2
I have been installing SeaMonkey updates routinely on my Windows XP and Windows 7 systems without any problems. I recently updated to 2.16.1 on both systems and all was okay. I then updated to 2.16.2 on both systems and the update worked fine on the Windows 7 system and bombed on the Windows XP system. I first updated to 2.16.2 and the system would not respond to any clicks I made---e.g. to go to a web site or download/compose/or access my mail. In fact, I could click on any item on the SeaMonkey window and it did nothing...I would then click on a different place on the win...

I received two quick responses, and one of them disappeared right after I read it. I think the question was whether right-clicking on the Inbox and repairing it solves the problem. No, the messages do not reappear. And I'm not allowing SeaMonkey to do anything with the messages automatically. I don't see any instruction or preference that would explain what is happening.
