Remote WebDAV Calendar through Firewall

I've set up a WebDAV calendar at home that I want to be able to access from
multiple locations. I can access it through any normal internet connection
with Basic Authentication (anon is disabled), but when I try from work
through the Corporate Firewall it will not authenticate.
I can access the WebDAV folder and validate through normal http on port 80,
but Sunbird will not authenticate through the Corporate Firewall.

Am I missing something? I thought everything was done through port 80.

You are right--Sunbird only uses normal HTTP on port 80. (In fact, it
does not really use WebDAV at all.) Do you need to configure Sunbird to
use a proxy?

I had not configured the Proxy (my mistake, didn't realize there was a proxy
in there), but I have now and I still have the same problem.

I'm getting the same error as was mentioned in a previous message:

Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x804a0107
[calIICSService.parseICS]"  nsresult: "0x804a0107 (<unknown>)"  location:
"JS frame ::
file:///D:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Sunbird/components/calICSCalendar.js ::
anonymous :: line 396" data: no]

I was getting this same error before I configured the Proxy.

Remote calendars with webdav
I'm trying to experiment with remote calendars. I've been following the following FAQ: http://www.twilight-systems.com/flacco/mozcal/mozcal-webdav.html It shows that when you subscribe or publish to a remote cal, you need to specify the URL and a user-id and password. My problem is that there are no textboxes for the user-id or password in either the subscribe or publish dialog boxes displayed by calendar. I'm using the Thunderbird extension version and the build is 2005/01/11. I've got it working without a user-id and password, but I'd like to impl...

Sunbird and remote (WebDAV) calendar
I am trying to subscribe to a remote calendar (on a WebDAV server) using Sunbird (20031011 standalone from http://files.oeone.net/mostafah2/). I get this error message: This doesn't appear to be a valid file. Here's what I got back from http://<username>:<password>@<URL>: Result: I know the URL is OK, as I can open it in Firebird. Anyone know what's going on here? TIA, Martin ...

Wanted: "Read-only Calendar" option for remote calendars.
Hi! The "Subscribe to Remote Calendar" should have and option that says "Read-only Calendar" to prevent users from (accidentally?) adding events to remote calendars that they don't have any PUT-priviliges to. The current implementation lets the user do that, and then at the next refresh, the events are deleted without any error-messages or warnings. This behaviour could have nasty consequences if the user really meant to put the event in a local calendar, but accidentally put it in the wrong calendar. But, as I keep saying, your program is super, and...

Thunderbird Calendar with Exchange 2003 Calendar and Public Folders Calendar

Free WebDav server and remote calendar issues
Hey all, If you're not able to get WebDav setup on one of your servers or its too much hassle, check out http://www.sharemation.com. They allow you to setup a free webdav account that works great. I've been using mine for a couple years now. A couple weeks ago I finally started playing with the remote calendar stuff. I set up my Calendar to publish automatically to my sharemation account. Then, from my girlfriends computer subscribed to it. Worked like a charm except for a few things: -around 20% of the time, I get an error like, file can't be found. Which I...

Google Calendar now supports CalDAV
Google Calendar now supports CalDAV! Great news!? - What are the consequences of this for Mozilla Calendar? Better? How? It seems at least we don't need the "Provider for Google Calendar" add-on anymore!? - Google's CalDAV "Location" includes the user's e-mail address (actually, the "Calendar ID") - including the "@" symbol. Can Mozilla Calendar handle this special symbol? (in my simple tests it does, but there might be other scenarios) - It would be useful to be able to set the "Read Only" check-box while creat...

still plans to support ftp for remote calendar update?
I've been using sunbird to maintain some calendars on a web server which are presented using phpicalendar, accessing and updating the files via FTP. The combination of Sunbird + phpicalendar works really well. Looking at 2005-10-18-10-trunk Subscribe to remote calendar.../Remote gives me an option of Format: Webdav and Caldav Entering an ftp//foo@example.com/mycal.ics still works, but it might be confusing to people not to have an ftp option on the menu. I'm not sure how much traffic is on this list, but I'd just like to let you know that Sunbird is looking v...

Remote calendar
Hi there! I first installed Thunderbird+Lighting and sunbird [yeah, i installed both] because i'm a google calendar user and i'd like to view and change my agenda while offline, with the syncing happening when i connect. The problem is that, if the calendar are in the server, the program [both Thunder and Sunbird] don't save the events of the last connection, what makes it unuseful while offline. Is there any add-on that enables that smart-save? Thanks makura@gmail.com wrote: > Hi there! > I first installed Thunderbird+Lighting and sunbird [yeah, i installed &...
