update 126.96.36.199 does not work with my new 188.8.131.52

Summary: update 184.108.40.206 does not work with my new 220.127.116.11
Each time I have installed update 18.104.22.168 I can't get my email for
firstname.lastname@example.org. The feed back states it can't find the pop server.
I've reported this twice to the web master but that amounted to zilch.
I've repeated this 2 times and each time I've had to reload 22.214.171.124 to
get at my email. I am continually bombarded with .4 up dates which I
now refuse to install again. So far, no one has reported a fix to me.

...Firefox version 18.104.22.168 is being updated to 22.214.171.124?

Summary: Firefox version 126.96.36.199 is being updated to 188.8.131.52?
I am currently using a version of Firefox with the version number of
184.108.40.206. This is the second time that I have been told that it has now
been updated to a newer version of Firefox with a version number of
220.127.116.11. I assume that 18.104.22.168 is newer (and better) than version
22.214.171.124. How can I stop this "update"?

I don't know what changed since 22.214.171.124 but the new releases (126.96.36.199,
188.8.131.52) seem very buggy. Random crashes, slow responses and
additionally problems with administrator rights.
I had similar problems on 2 out of 2 systems. Best solution for me (and
probably a lot of other users) is to go back to 184.108.40.206 and disable

I have been a programmer for 30 years. I just upgraded to the versions
on Firefox and Thunderbird listed in the subject line. I think these
versions are very buggy. Firefox's password manager doesn't work and
even with the link "http://hendrix.mozilla.org" work around link to
"force autocomplete=off doesn't do the trick. Thunderbird can get my

After installing Firefox version 220.127.116.11 I noticed that web page
printing is out of order, when the xp user account is a limited account.
I checked to see the print preview and that showed me only partial page

The Updated version dialog pops up and says the latest version is
188.8.131.52, but I'm running 184.108.40.206! I went ahead and did the update, and
sure enough, I now have 220.127.116.11. And when I check for updates, it
says there are no new versions. Did Mozilla do this on purpose? Is
this happening to anyone besides me?

e.g.: 2008.04.16 or 20080416
It isn't perhaps one of the most widely adopted of international
standards, but for anyone working with date formats that need to be
quickly parsed and sorted by computer, it's the best.
Browser Details: Mozilla/5.0...Upgraded from 18.104.22.168 to 22.214.171.124???

downloaded update is 188.8.131.52 ... seems to me that's a step backwards ...
is there a reason?

I had a weird instance today, where Firefox locked up (no, that's not
weird...lol) on Vista, and so Vista did the "checking for problems"
process, and then...
