Building Firefox on GNU/Linux: /usr/bin/ld.gold.real: internal error in set_offset, at output.cc:4030

I was trying to build the Firefox in my Ubuntu 10.10 GNU/Linux.

GNU GCC: gcc-4.4.real (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.4.4-14ubuntu5) 4.4.5
GNU gold: GNU gold (GNU Binutils 2.21) 1.10
GNU make: 3.81
GNU Autoconf: 2.13

(I followed the process as given in the URL: https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Developer_Guide/Build_Instructions/Linux_Prerequisites)

That's an internal error in your linker. I don't have a good
suggestion for you, except to file a bug with Ubuntu and see if
there's an updated gold package.

You could try to build from the source of the packages mentioned here
(trunk, aurora, ...):

binutils-gold is up-to-date.

I'll file a bug for binutils-gold package.

Thanks!

VS Builds, and Builds, and Builds
Hello, Has anyone else had this problem?  After a while of developing, and I go to compile, VS takes forever to build and I have to end-task it.  It's definitely after I've been working for a while, then it finally has "had it" and just takes forever to build.  It's annoying as I know its not the machine (2.8 GHZ processor and 1GB RAM).  Has anyone else experienced this problem?  By the way, I do have SP1 installed. Also, after minimizing and switching around screens, when it does this, the building icon in the status bar doesn't show.  And, for more informati...

Dev Builds of Java SE 7 Plug-ins Not Working In Firefox 3.6a1pre builds
Dev Builds of Java SE 7 Plug-ins have not been working for over a couple of weeks now. I'm using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2a1pre) Gecko/20090630 Minefield/3.6a1pre on Windows XP SP3. I'm not sure if I should file a bug with Mozilla or Sun. I know that Mozilla has been making changes under the hood with regards to how Firefox deal with java plug-ins and what not. The plug-in's list in the add-on's window suggests that it is working fine, but when I try to play java games that use the plug-in, it doesn't recognize that I have java ...

Get following error when building using devenv.exe from cmd but not when building in VS2005 ASPNETCOMPILER : error ASPPARSE
Hey, Was wondering if anyone could help. When building the solution in VS2005, I get no issues, build successful. However, when building the solution using devenv.exe, it seems to do a asp precompile which generates the error above. Possibly because the precompile is relying on controls that have yet to be built. I have checked the Build Order in the solution and everything is correct. Is there any way to prevent this precompile and therefore prevent this error? Can someone possibly explain why it may be happening? Thanks, B...
