Allow Self Cert?

I find it a bit silly that if have a personal website where I have a forum =
which people can login. I need to choose between having a valid cert having=
everything in the cleartext. There are organizations such as the CCC (Chao=
s Computer Club) that have self sign their cert https://www.anonbox.net/

How can I put in a feature request that will allow http but perhaps no lock=
or any symbol to say it is 'safe'. Just have the world icon like non https=
pages but still keep the https in the domain so I can see that I am using =
ssl/tls

ALLOW ALLOW ALLOW
Name: Sara F Product: Firefox Summary: ALLOW ALLOW ALLOW Comments: It's getting extremely tiresome to have to "allow" a site to reload/redirect all the time. at least three of my favourite sites require that I do this, including my webmail, which often does it TWICE. Also, should I not select the 'allow' option and switch tabs, the option disappears entirely, which means I have to reload the page and repeat the whole process. My suggestion is this: Invest some time into "allowing" Firefox to REMEMBER which sites I always allow. Browser ...

Handling self-signed certs in XULRunner apps
I'm having a problem with handling self-signed certs from my xulrunner app (http://code.google.com/p/firegss). When I open HTTPS links inside a browser element, I get alert windows with the message: foo.bar.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is not trusted. (Error code: sec_error_untrusted_issuer) This is because the site uses a server certificate signed by its own CA. After many hours of searching for more information, I've created a cert_override.txt that contains the proper entries for these sites. Th...

Firefox behavior is wrong regarding self signed certs
Name: Helmut Tessarek Product: Firefox Summary: Firefox behavior is wrong regarding self signed certs Comments: Dear Firefox developers, I was always using Firefox, because it WAS the best browser on the market. Your policy regarding self-signed SSL certificates is just wrong. A self signed certificate is valid. You can print an error, if the domain name does not match the CN in the cert. But stating that a self signed cert is not valid is wrong. Who came up with this stupid idea? I will have to change the browser, because Firefox is not an example of openess anymore. I a...

Communication by Firefox devs to add-on devs
The time has come for the developers of Firefox to start communicating with the developers of add-ons. As a case in point: Recently the classic.manifest file in fx3 has had a large number of override codes added to it that reassigned filenames from example.png to example-aero.png. Suddenly, all third-party themes in Vista are now missing buttons in a number of places - some of them not easy to spot (e.g. - the wrap icon that shows up only when you reach the bottom of a page in a page search). If one of the themers had not had a user using Vista who communicated with him, and if the t...
