You are redirected to Windows Update version 4 when you try 
to connect to Windows Update version 5

SYMPTOMS
When you try to connect to Windows Update version 5, you are 
redirected to Windows Update version 4.

CAUSE
This problem occurs if your Microsoft Internet Explorer security 
settings are configured to prevent ActiveX controls from running.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type inetcpl.cpl, and then click OK.
2. Click the Security tab, and then click Custom Level.
3. Click to select the Enable check box for the following items:
      * Download signed ActiveX controls
      * Download unsigned ActiveX controls
      * Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe
      * Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins
      * Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting
4. Click OK two times.
