two URL's

I have just discovered that I my computer seems to have two addresses ont he
internet - one which weems plausible (changing slightly each time I connect
to the internet), and one which seems to be based in New Jersey inthe US (I
am based in the UK) - I did a trace/ping on it. More than that, the second
'suspicious' URL seems to be a bit coy about revealing details about itself.

Can anyone give some advice on what is happening?
Thanks
Derek.

ASA 9
All, There is a JConnect 4.5 and 5.5, and Sybase Central 4.1 and 4.3 installed as part of 9.02. Why are both present? Are the OS limitations that make you use one or the other? Regards, Mike Niemann Sybase Central version 4.1 came with ASA 8. It must have been pre-installed. The same holds true for JConnect 4.5 [it was a common practice to install both versions, 4.5 for JRE 1.1.x and 5.5 for JRE 1.2 or higher]. With ASA 9.0.x we now only install JConnect 5.5. How to 301 redirect dynamic URL's to new rewrited URL's for SEO purposes
Hi,I have installed a rewriting for the URL's. It is working. Problem is that our old URL's are still found in Google. To avoid loosing the pagerank in Google we already built up, I want to redirect the most important URL's to the new rewrited ones. For example: http://www.mydomain.nl/medicijn_ervaring.aspx?PK_MedicineID=N01AA45a&PK_CategoryID=13This is rewrited to: http://www.mydomain.nl/mirena.aspxProblem is that the URLs are dynamic, so not physical pages. Our server doesn't support the .htaccess solution.I reckon loads of people have the same issue.. but how to solve i...

Session ID's in the URL's
on my company site the session ID's are in a URL. For ex: http://localhost/test.asp?SessionID=05000010066C5DEEF-5045-43D5-9771-3ED6 what does that mean? does that mean that they are not using the client side cookies? and are passing the session in the URL.   That is exactly what it means   but I think this is not the format when the session is not using the cookies, in that case the session is in a format like http://localhost/(000000000000000000)form.aspx I think you are confusing two things here.  The localhost url you showed me appears to be an IIS 7 compati...

Can't figure out what's wrong with mail URL's
I have a problem in that when I click a URL within my mail client (Mozilla Thunderbird) - it downloads HTML and then displays it in IE with an address of C:\Documents and Settings\my name\Local Settings\Temp\name of HTML file This means that none of the associated images etc are displayed. The only way I can get the site to load properly is to copy and paste the URL into IE directly. Previously I was using Mozilla Firebird as my default browser. Anyone know what is going on here? Thanks! XP Pro SP1, IE 6.0, Mozilla Thunderbird 0.4 Paul Jackson <jackson.p.g@ayte...

Child Portal's and relative URL's
I run-up against a problem with using relative URL's in DNN modules all the time and wonder what other module developers do. Quite possibly I have missed the obvious, and if so, please enlighten me. Problem Description: The following code snippet is from subhost.aspx which is cloned as default.aspx for child portals: If Request.Browser("IsMobileDevice") = "true" And Request.Browser.Crawler = False Then DomainName = ServerPath & "MobileDefault.aspx" & "?alias=" & DomainName Else ...

window.open(url, '', 'dialog') is phishing fodder and spoofable itself, what's the UX plan?
In the context of the email app's OAuth2 flow on dev-webapi the issue of the phishing risk of doing window.open()-triggered OAuth2 dances was raised (https://groups.google.com/d/msg/mozilla.dev.webapi/oqPPmSrt1Ws/i5TKEFdkNYIJ). And it's a very good point, because even as an expert developer, using the v2.1 UI, I have no idea how to tell if I'm getting phished or not from within our apps. Specifically: - The window.open UI as triggered with the 'dialog' has a title-ish bar across the top. It has an 'x' and the document.title. (The title is ini...
