Adobe has released version 9.0.151.0 of Flash Player to avoid letting down those users who for certain reasons can't update to the current version 10. This includes the users of Microsoft Windows 98, Windows ME, Mac OS X 10.1 to 10.3 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 and 4. According to Adobe, version 10 does not work on these systems. Adobe had initially planned to discontinue its support of the series 9 versions. http://www.heise-online.co.uk/security/Adobe-releases-Flash-Player-9-0-151-0-after-all--/news/111902 -- "Never drive faster than your ANGEL can fly"

I think I may ditch 10 and go back to 9. Curse you, Macrodobe. -- Original Poster For so to interpose a little ease, Let our frail thoughts dally with false surmise

I had one &hotplace of a time getting rid of 9 as the Flash9f.ocx file was locked and even after I ran the un-installer and rebooted it was still there. I had to go into Safe Mode then remove the Read only attribute and take ownership of the file in my Admin account then I could delete it. I then used Secunia Online Software Inspector to see that it was really gone: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online -- Change is inevitable except from a vending machine

I don't recall that happening the past but I am a very sparse user of Flash Player and never install it on my default browser Fx. I was sort of taken aback when I booted this guest XP Pro SP2 machine a bit ago and the first thing greeting me was this big popup demanding that I upgrade Flash Player. I only have it installed for IE and IE wasn't started when I got the popup. Rather bossy. > -- > "Never drive faster than your ANGEL can fly"
