Delphi 7 & SOAP & WSDL Import & SSRS

Hi
I am struggling with a web service I consumed (ReportService2010.asmx). I am not sure if I consumed it with the in-corrections options or if I am not setting THTTPRIO settings correctly or both ! I am really new to webservice & SOAP.

I update the Delphi SOAP Runtime and Importer Update (http://cc.embarcadero.com/Item/24535). Thank you Jean-Marie Babet.

I imported the WSDL with the following options [wfDebug,wfUnwindLiteralParameters,wfUseSerializerClassForAttrs]. I had to make a few changes to the pas file to get it to compile.

I changed {code} SensitivityEnum = (True, False, Auto); {code} to  {code}SensitivityEnum = (se_True, se_False, se_Auto); {code}

There was also a class that referenced a type that was not yet declared. The code below is what was produced by the WSDL importer.
{code}
  ModelItem = class(TRemotable)
  private
    FID: WideString;
    FName: WideString;
    FModelItemTypeName: WideString;
    FDescription: WideString;
    FModelItems: ArrayOfModelItem;
  public
    destructor Destroy; override;
  published
    property ID: WideString read FID write FID;
    property Name: WideString read FName write FName;
    property ModelItemTypeName: WideString read FModelItemTypeName write FModelItemTypeName;
    property Description: WideString read FDescription write FDescription;
    property ModelItems: ArrayOfModelItem read FModelItems write FModelItems;
  end;

  ArrayOfModelItem = array of ModelItem;        { "http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/03/01/ReportServer" }
{code}

I moved this line of code {code} ArrayOfModelItem = array of ModelItem; { "http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/03/01/ReportServer" } {code} to before the class that reference it.

After this the file compiled. :)

I then tried to do retrieve system polices from the WS. This was successful. See code below.

{code}
procedure TForm1.Button1Click(Sender: TObject);
var
  rs : ReportingService2010Soap;
  spr : GetSystemPoliciesResponse;

begin
  rs := GetReportingService2010Soap(True,'',HTTPRIO1);
  spr := rs.GetSystemPolicies(nil);
  MessageDlg(Policy(spr.Policies[0]).GroupUserName, mtWarning, [mbOK], 0);
end;
{code}

I altered HTTPRIO1.options, I set soDocument=True and soLiteralParams= True.

The next thing I tried, was to create a folder. This was not successful. See code below.
{code}
procedure TForm1.Button1Click(Sender: TObject);
var
  fd : CreateFolder;
  rs : ReportingService2010Soap;

begin
  rs := GetReportingService2010Soap(True,'',HTTPRIO1);

  fd := CreateFolder.Create;
  fd.Folder := 'Test';
  fd.Parent := '/';

  rs.CreateFolder(fd)
end;
{code}

The code above gives me the following error message.
---------------------------
Project1
---------------------------
The value for parameter 'Folder' is not specified. It is either missing from the function call, or it is set to null. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.MissingParameterException: The value for parameter 'Folder' is not specified. It is either missing from the function call, or it is set to null.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

From what I have been reading on forums it seems to be a result of the SOAP encoding. RPC vs literal encoding. I set soDocument = True and soLiteralParams =True.

I got no idea where to go from here.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

Hi

After re reading this thread for the 100^th^ time (https://forums.embarcadero.com/message.jspa?messageID=326362)

I tried reproducing the WDSL file with the following options [wfDebug,wfAmbiguousComplexTypesAsArray,wfUnwindLiteralParameters,wfOutputLiteralTypes,wfUseSerializerClassForAttrs]
and added the line below to the initialization section.

{code}
InvRegistry.RegisterInvokeOptions(TypeInfo(ReportingService2010Soap),ioDocument);
{code}

The createFolder now works :D ! ( however i'm not sure what could off been affected by this)

Not sure how and why but I would really appreciated it if someone could explain this. Bearing in mind I'm a newbie to (webservices & SOAP ).

Thank you.

Hi

The next stumbling block is the one below.

The parameter value provided for 'snapshotID' does not match the parameter type. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ParameterTypeMismatchException: The parameter value provided for 'snapshotID' does not match the parameter type. ---> System.Exception: For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors.

Have I imported the WSDL incorrectly, is it possible for someone to have a look at the pas file created via the WSDL imported?

Thank You.

What the *$&@)%#(&!!???
Ok, a little off topic but I need help ASAP. I installed a mapping program this morning and ever since then, my computer has been going nuts. My IIS wouldn't work anymore...it wouldn't show any of my virtual directories...said there were none to manage. I re-installed that and it works now. *i think* Then I tried to browse to one of my local sites ... such as http://localhost/somesite, or http://localhost/dotnetnuke, etc. None of them work! They all point to the correct folders and have the default.aspx at the top of the documents list. All I get is a blank white page when I browse t...

and, or, &&, ||
Hello! I remember someone mentioning that there may be a precedence problem with "unexpected results" during a mathematical conditional test, using the keywords "and" and "or"...instead of the symbols (&& and ||). Is this true? Can anyone give me an example? Thanks much! cl __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get email alerts & NEW webcam video instant messaging with Yahoo! Questions of practicality for the "smaller developers"
Is this going to be your typical $700-$1000 or so upgrade, which will in turn lead to yet another $700-$1000 or so upgrade for the 2005 version just down the road? I'm not nitpicking, I'm just as excited as can be... but I have to brace myself for the reality that it may be self defeating to plunk down that much cash and make the tansitions that go along with it when Whidbey is in fact a brief stopover to yet another big release. Of course, I'd love to hear that I'm way off base. some answers: 1: why do you care? Put it into your pricing calculations. The time savings for he end...
