Performance issue while using Word2000

We are using Word2000 in our application for interaction with MS word to print a word document.
Since we have large number of variables to be printed, values are fetched and printed, hence takes a lot of time.

Can anyone please let us know if there is any upgraded version of word2000 that could help in this scenario.

To use or not to use Delphi
Sadly, it seems to me that there is a sort of race between the two threads, for and against using Delphi in new projects, with more or less the same users posting in both threads. Arguments are fiercely debated in both camps. Borland had their own vision. As a community, now that Delphi has changed ownership I believe we should try to be more consistent, more clear, and more articulate in what we expect from Embercadero in terms of Delphi. We can contribute to keeping Delphi alive and moving in the right direction. "Laurent Cocea" schrieb: > Sadly, it seems to me that there ...

Performance Issue Using AppSettings?
Dear All I was hoping for some advice please. I'm using a .config file to store some settings which will be used throughout my application. I've created a separate appSettings.config file to store these away from my main web.config file. E.g....... <appSettings> <add key="EnableAutoEmail" value="True" /> <add key="EnableStatisticsPanel" value="True" /> <add key="StartAcademicYear" value="01/09/2007" /> <add key="EndAcademicYear" value="31/07/2008" /> ...

Initial use performance issue!
Hi, I develop an ASP.NET 2.0 & SQL2005 application which is deployed on Windows Server 2003 and the have the following issue whose solution has eluded IT!A user that accesses our application will get very very bad performance if no one has been browsing our website in the previous 10-20 mins. As in, it will take about 25 ( timed ) seconds for the default.aspx page to render. Logging in will take a 15 second wait, and after 1 minute of use, the whole web app becomes very performant. Is this an IIS setting issue ? I have read many docs about caching, but it seems to me that this isn...

Performance issue using computed fields
Can anyone tell me how to stop the datawindow from evaluating the computed field expressions everytime I insert a row. I'm using a group datawindow with some computed fields in the group footer/summary. Via script I insert about 1500 rows into this datawindow. It's very slow. When I remove the computed fields the problem goes away. It seems that for every row inserted the computed fields are evaluated. Is there a way to stop this, until all rows have been inserted? Kind Regards, GJ Before inserting, set the expression to something simple - like a text value. Insert ...

performance issues using <iframe>
Is anyone aware of any performance issues when using an iframe in ASP.NET? I have a new web app in which I am considering using an iframe to load each new page into when a menu button is clicked, rather than loading a whole new page. The header and side navigation menus are inside user controls. Are there any performance reasons to use one method over another? NDPS performance issue when using WORD / EXCELL
I've noticed that my users are experiencing a delay when attempting to use various formatting features of Microsoft Office products regardless of Office versions and this ONLY occurs when their default printer is an NDPS based printer. If we make the default printer a LOCAL printer, the issue is resolved. ANY IDEAS? Bryan Try asking in the Client forums. Most likely general client tips can help resolve this. Basically, Windows will try and do a network name resolve on the printer for many of these office functions. Resolving the name delays should address your problem...

Any Performance issues using Themes & Skins
We are developing a web application using ASP.NET 2.0 and I want to use Themes & Skins dynamically for our web application. One of my colleague has raised performance issues in using Themes & Skins as it is server-side. He wants to use simple stylesheet in asp.net pages and not use themes & skins. Do you guys see any major performance issues in using dynamic or static Themes & Skins? Please let me know. Perhaps minor impact on speed/performance (especially when used dynamically), but I can't imagine too much of difference.  Besides, Themes offer more organized approach ...

Web app Performance Issue ( more sessions used ) ???
Hello Friends, I have created a small shopping cart application using ASP.NET 2.0. When I run thru the VS IDE 2005 it shows up quickly. After login the next page appears quickly and all the other functions work well. But when I open it thru the IE and give the path like http://localhost/newshopcart/login.aspx the login page comes. But when I input the user nm/pwd it takes a hell lot of time to get in. Infact it never goes to next page. What must be the reason? I admit that I have used around 25 session variables in my application Does that make any problem. Also at the las...

Multi threading: Performance issues when using specific pages
Hi, In my application, the gecko is embedded in a seperate thread (using VC ++). I have a weird problem in some pages, such as MSDN. For example: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms648382.aspx When I go to it from my application, and move the mouse over one of the links at the top that do that annoying animation thing (for example, "User Interface"), the performance is horrible - I can see the frame of the animation growing slowly, and the entire effect can take around 10 seconds (!).
