Installing JCL (jcl-2.4.1.4571) within C++ Builder 6

I downloaded the latest version of JCL (jcl-2.4.1.4571).
I unzipped the content of the file into a new folder: "C:\C++ Builder 6\jcl-2.4.1.4571"
Within this new folder, I run 'Install.bat'.
I did not modify any of the options found in the 'Project JEDI Installer'.

When I click the 'Install' button, I get an 'access violation' in module 'rtl60.bpl.' Does anybody know what I might be doing wrong?

Here is the content of the log file:

Just to verify that it was not another third-party component that might be causing the problem that I am encountering when trying to install JCL (jcl-2.4.1.4571) within C++ Builder 6 Professional Edition, I did the following:

- created a brand new 32-bit virtual machine running Windows XP
- installed C++ Builder 6 Professional Edition
- installed C++ Builder 6 Professional Edition Update 4

When I tried to install JCL, I got the exact same error as the one mentioned in my original post. At this point, I am not sure of what to do next.

First, what version does it give in the about box?
Here, I have 6.0 Build 10.157

Second, you installed BCB in a folder that contains + in its name.
AFAIR, it's a big "no-no", the compiler doesn't like it at all, hence it
might be why it crashes.

Thanks for all your help. That did it.

I was not aware that installing BCB in a folder that contains a '+' in its name was not a good idea. It had worked (5+ years) for me until now. As soon as I installed BCB in a folder without a '+' in its name, I was able to successfully insall JCL.

FYI: I have 6.0 Build 10.166.

OpenSUSE 12.1, ntp 4.2.6 (from 4.2.4) changes/disables sntp options
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I just stumbled upon this and thought I'd bring it up since it was not clear why this happened. I have a script written just last week for the first time that uses 'sntp' along with some non-default options (-c and - -d) which control how long sntp will wait for responses before timing out. Because I'd wanted things to happen faster I'd used these options to decrease the timeouts. On a whim I tried the same options on OpenSUSE 12.1 and they did not work. Going to ntp.org I was able to see that the manpage (sntp.1)...

Note that 4.1.2 is an unstable development release and should not be used in production environments. However, we are getting very close to feature freeze for 4.2, so now is the time to give us feedback on 4.1.2 if you want its behavior to change significantly before we release. Download -------...
