Hi,This is my first attempt at remote debugging. I'm moving a website that I've developed on my local machine onto another machine on the network. If I start the Remote Debugging Monitor on the remote PC and open the website folder through the FileSystem method on the remote PC via my local VS 2005 I can start debugging successfully. The problem then is that because I need to refer to a virtual folder the site crashes and I am unable to test anything. So, my question: How do I configure VS 2005 and the debugger so that I can remotely debug but still have the site recognise virtual folder...Unable to start debugging on the web server. The Microsoft Visual Studio Remote Debugging Monitor (MSVSMON.EXE) does not appear to be running on the remote computer.
I have now tried to debug from my Windows XP/SP2 client, to a Windows 2003 server, running the Remote Debuggin Monitor.
This does not work at all, and I keep getting this annoying error message: "Unable to start debugging on the web server. The Microsoft Visual Studio Remote Debugging Monitor (MSVSMON.EXE) does not appear to be running on the remote computer.".
I have searched the Internet thin, but unable to find a suitable solution.
However, if choose the option "Attach to process...", and then set the qualifier to DOMAIN\UserName@ServerName, then it works perfectly fine.
So...Unable to Start Debugging on the Web Server. the microsoft visual studio remote debugging monitor (msvsmon.exe) does not appear to be running on the remote computer. On one PC but not the other..
Here is my problem, I have two XP PC's (SP2) with VS2005 installed on them. (One is a VMware PC is that makes any difference)
On the non-VMware PC I can open a web project located on a remote web server via file share and run Debug and it works as expected.
On the VMware PC, doing the same thing (pointing to the same app) I run debug and I get the message box "Unable to Start Debugging on the Web Server. The microsoft visual studio remote debugging monitor (msvsmon.exe) does not appear to be running on the remote computer."
Firewall settings are the same between the two.

I would like to use the remote debugger to debug an application
on a second computer using a limited user account.
I need to track down some access rights problems in the
Any idea how to accomplish this? Isn't it so that the remote
debugger needs to be started with admin rights and spawns
child processes with the same rights?
I'd be grateful for some hints...

Iam using an http request and extracting some content out of it to do my rest of work in a home page codebehind. This code is working fie on my dev machine. But, when deployed on the server, the code is not analyzing the request properly. I have gone through the ms article for remote debugging. its really a big pain. I tried that but many a times it fails with permissions denied errors on targets.
But, what i thought was to write the entire user events which a user is doing by writing them to a page and then track it to see as what the code is doing?

According to the feature matrix, Remote Debugging has been removed from the
Professional edition. In the past, Remote Debugging has always been
available in the Professional edition. What gives?

Remote debugging has never 'officially' been a part of the professional
level product. If you check our previous feature matrices you w...Remote Debugging
Is remote debugging of :
(2) JARS that get deployed to Jaguar's classpath
(3) Standard Java Jaguar Components
I have tried to set it up re the manual with no luck.
I start the Jag debug server. it gives me a key.
I set the run options of my Servlets/Components/EJB to attach to a Jag
Hit the test button (in run configuration), its says Success and even gives
me the matching server key.
But when I run the components to put them in a ready for debug state, it
complains that the Jag server is not available.????
Does anyone know if there might be any plans for Remote Debugging on the
Pocket PC. (something like the way a nvo can be debugged on
I think it would be a great Idea if it were possible.
I was not courageous enough to ask this question, because I know what
this would add up to Reed's crew, even when you ever used eVCs
debugger and you see this one not working very good....
So, if there would exist a voting for this feature, you would have

pb70.exe has generated errors. error log is being created.

This is happening if i put a break point in the Deployed Component in the
Jaguar Server which is running in the debug mode, and try to Remotely debug
it from a client application[another PB session.]
I haven't figured out how to make the jpda bind to anything other than
localhost. Is this possible, and if so, how?
I'm do this locally now so it isn't so bad but it would be nice to lighten
the load on my machine and use the debugger on a different machine.
I use something like this to connect remotely and it works for me.
jdb -connect com.sun.jdi.SocketAttach:hostname=mymachine,port=1262

I want to debug a component deployed in the Jaguar server.
Try to follow, i did the following:
1. Have the Jaguar Debug server running.
2. Created the project and installed the components with Remote debugging
3. started a remote debugging session in PB.
4. Selected the components to be de-bugged.
5. Started another session of PB, and started the client application.
But when stepping through the code that calls the component fn, remote
debugging PB session is not fired up.
Am i missing something? Please shed some light. Thanks in advance.

I am new to ASP.NET and C#. I am using VS.NET 2003. I have a Win XP Pro /SP1 workstation and a Win 2k Server w/ sp4 server. I am trying to create a new web app but I am getting various errors. "Unable to start remote debugging. RPC Server is not available"
I have .NET 1.1 installed on both machine. I ran the aspnet_iisreg -i command. Nothing seemd to be working.
What else is the to do
You wouldnt think you have to do so many things to get this program to function properly.
I think you need to install remote debugger components on the server. the components...Remote Debug !
I am using PB8 with Local Jag Server. I have a few object on the server
side which I need to debug. Does anyone know how to debug server side
script in PB8.
In PB7 I had to put remote debug property to True. And then start 2
sessions of PB 7 and then debug it.
Thanks for your HELP,
Just hit the remote debug rather than the local debug button. It's the one
right next to the local debug.

I deployed one PB NVO onto EAServer. I also created a proxy for the same
NVO and everything went well so far. I have window and on my window I have
a button where having the code for connecting to EAServer and then trigger
a calculation process after that.
Then I was trying to run the app to test it. I put some break points on
the server side and then fired the app in another PB instance but the
strange thing is that the whole app keeps GPF once the button on the window
is pressed and it did not stop at any of the break point.
jaguar.log did not have any errors.
