You can associate *different* build events with each of the build
configurations, you know.
...Command line build differs from IDE build
Hi,I've got a VS2008 solution containing several projects including a web application and web deployment project. I build the release version of this using a NAnt script - everything was working fine until I upgraded to VS2008 SP1.When the command line build takes placedevenv.exe <solution> /build releaseit runs find and succeeds, however it does not put all the referenced DLLs in the bin folder that it should.If I open the solution in the IDE, select Release configuration and build, the complete set of DLLs is created. If I then do a Clean (through the IDE), all the DLLs pro...VS Builds, and Builds, and Builds
Has anyone else had this problem? After a while of developing, and I go to compile, VS takes forever to build and I have to end-task it. It's definitely after I've been working for a while, then it finally has "had it" and just takes forever to build. It's annoying as I know its not the machine (2.8 GHZ processor and 1GB RAM). Has anyone else experienced this problem? By the way, I do have SP1 installed.
Also, after minimizing and switching around screens, when it does this, the building icon in the status bar doesn't show. And, for more informati...Pre-Build and Post-Build Events... what's wrong?

Hi all, in the delphi/c++builder IDE, under build configurations, there is a facility to specify build events.
I was attempting to add a pre-build event to the "Release" config, but somehow, this pre-build event is "automatically" included in the "Debug" config.
Is this supposed to work this way?
Basically, I want to have the pre-build event triggered only when doing a "release" build, but do not want pre-build event triggered for a "Debug" build.
Any help would be appreciated.

I am trying to test migrating my projects to Delphi 2009, but encountered a strange problem.
I wonder if someone could confirm or maybe dis-confirm it...
When build events scripts are used, along with conditional defines and custom unit search paths, building projects fails badly:
1. Pre-build script can't see $(DEFINES) anymore;
2. The IDE generates '--platform:x86' parameter, which dcc32 refuse to take;
(Manually edit the .dproj file and remove DCC_Platform suppresses this mis-behave)
3. The project specific unit search path is ignored by IDE and does not get passed to th...Build a WebControl with Events

( I want to preface this by saying that this is unbelievable.)Aside from the pathetic fact that there are no solution-wide pre-build and post-build event options in Vis Studio, I seem to have found another anomaly.In my solution, I am able to right click on any project (.dll, etc.) and access/update build events for them.HOWEVER, I am unable to do so for the main project. (I am not talking about the solution, but the main project in the solution.) E.g., if you start a web project, you apparently cannot edit build events for it. You can only do so for additional projec...Pre build events
I am ported some old programs from Borland C++ to CBuilder 2007. One is giving me trouble. It is an embedded SQL program, so I need to run the pre-compiler before I can build the project. In Borland C++ this was dead easy to do. You just configured a special compilation tool for the .e file. I can't find a similar ability in CBuilder, so I thought that a pre build event would be the way to go. The only trouble being this; I can't get the pre build event to execute. I have the command configured in t

You can find a video about Events http://www.asp.net/learn/videos/ "Lesson 3"
In general , an Event is fired when some thing [an event] happens and then you should choose your Event Handler [a function that is executed when the Event is fired].
In C#, to know about Events I think you should start with delegates [they simply points to the Event Handler fn.] and then go to Events and Event Handlers.

However when using the Copy Project option, it seems to restart the aspnet service and the sessions clear. Right now, I have to wait until there are no users logged into my site to do updates, which are very minor, but include code-behind changes. Can I just upload the updated pages w/out building?In this world there are 10 types of pe...
