Error: Property access must assign to the property or use its value.

 I am working on a project and I need to set the default values to load in the text boxes. When I insert the default values it displays the error message Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0in; mso-para-margin-right:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:10.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0in; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;} "Property access must assign to the property or use its value."  I have included my code below:

Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
        Me.txtr1_c1.Text("5")
        Me.txtr1_c2.Text("2")
        Me.txtr1_c3.Text("3")
        Me.txtr2_c1.Text("8")
        Me.txtr2_c2.Text("32")
        Me.txtr2_c3.Text("1")
        Me.txtr3_c1.Text("4")
        Me.txtr3_c2.Text("9")
        Me.txtr3_c3.Text("10")
        Me.txtr4_c1.Text("17")
        Me.txtr4_c2.Text("15")
        Me.txtr4_c3.Text("12")

    End Sub

Also I have to display the results of my calculations in a message box.. Could someone please help me with these to issues. I am a first time Visual Studio user and completely new to VB. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Get it on Google Play
Get it on Apple App Store

you set the text property like this

Me.txtr1_c1.Text = "5"

to show a messagebox from a webpage, you could use a javascript alert() or perhaps an ajax modalpopup

shep2008:
Property access must assign to the property or use its value

As the error describes itself, Text being a property requires to be assigned using = operator

label.Text="some string in quotes"

Textbox.Text="some string in quotes"

Button.Text="some string in quotes"

using javascript to change .net web form properties
Hello everyone, I'm fairly new to ASP.NET and I'm trying to find the best solution to this problem I'm having.  I believe ultimately what I need to be able to do is change the ImageUrl value via javascript of an ImageButton.  A small example of what I'm working on can be found here in a javascript form:http://www.msu.edu/~sebenic3/This is a simple data input method for a survey. There are three distinct columns, when you select a number within a column it will change the .gif image to show it's selected and then populate the textbox with that value.  I...

Using property values of user control between two web forms.
Hi,I am stuck with a problem.I have a user control on more than one web form( say webform1 and webform2 ).The user control consists of several hyperlinks(say hyp1 and hyp2 ).When I enter values in webform1 and then click 'save' button , one of the property of user control (say ID ) is assigned some value. I want to use that value 'ID' in webform2 after the user clicks on hyp2. I dont think using Querystring will be useful because hyp1 is selected be default. It is not a compulsion for the user, that he has to click on hyp2..he can also click on other hyperlinks of the user control also...Ple...

getting a property value when expression is used on property
Hi everyone, I'm using PB10.2.0.8011 on Windows XP. I hate asking fundamental questions for which I know the answer lies in a manual, but I am having a rough time finding the answer to my question. I initially created a computed column with expression: describe("day1.x"), which refers to a dw object's property which in itself has an expression defining the value. The result is as expected a value of the form value~texpression. So, I tried the following column expression to extract the actual value of x: describe("evaluate('day1.x'," + ...
