Visual Studio .NET vs Visual Studio .NET 2002 or 2003?
As an admin, I'm working to determing what systems I need to update with the update on MS08-017, particularly with respect to Visual Studio .NET 2002 and 2003. I've got quite a few systems that appear to have Visual Studio .NET, no 2002 or 2003 mentioned when I view what's there in Add/Remove Programs.
Is there a definitive way to determine if I have a 2002 or 2003 version?

I also have pc running Visual Studio 2003 that I use to support a .net 1.1 application. This pc has broke. Visual C#.Net vs Visual Studio.Net
I have read in other posts a lot of people recommending Visual Studio.Net over the Web Matrix. My query is: why is there a £700 difference between VS.Net and Visual C#.Net? As a c# developer, I won't need any VB functionality. I also don't require Visual Source Safe, as projects are generally small and manageable.
What features are lacking in Visual c#.net that justifies the price difference? Does it have Intellisense / Dubuggers / Compilers? These are the features that would make me pay for it instead of continuing with WM, but I need to know if tehre is serious functionality missin...

What are they trying to do to us developers.
The transition to any new tools should be minimal. What we know about WebServices is now old bunk.
Why did we bother with .net 1.1????????
Now we need to learn new silly names and new ways of doing things.
Yes .net 1.1 is still supported in v2.0. But there are a million and one other needless things that we will have pushed onto us. Only to find in anther two years that they are old hat and there are new radical ways to do what we want.MCAD.Net vb.n...
Framework 3.0 and Visual Studio 2005 + side note question on Visual Studio 2008
HelloI just have these two quick questions.Thanks.1) Can you code in Visual Studio 2005 using Framework 3.0 instead of 2.0?2) Is the Visual Studio 2008 the final, final release available to download on the MSDN site? The reason I'm asking is that I don't want to be put into a position when it hits the DVDs in Feb. 2008 and have to uninstall. The horror stories of the past BETA uninstalls got me all scared:(
1. yes, download the tools for VS2005
2. I believe so, however its up to MS to make that descion!David Kiffhttp://DavidKiff.co.uk-- "Mark As Answer"...
Visual Basic .NET 2003 vs Visual Studio .NET 2003
Hi,

Is it Visual Studio .NET 2003 update version? Does Microsoft change its name?
I'm not sure I understand your question exactly -- I'm a little thrown by the word "update." Visual Studio 2005 is the new/current version, released on Monday. This product never officially had the word ".NET" in its nam...
Click Event Mapping to Server side code : InitializeComponent() in Visual Studio 2005 (.NET 2.0)
Hi,
In Visual Studion 2003 when we create a web page we can map the click events of a asp control to server side code in the InitializeComponent() like this
this.btnAcceptNow.Click += new System.EventHandler(this.btnAcceptNow_Click);
InitializeComponent() gets created automatically in VS2003
How do we achieve the same in VS2005 (2.0)?
Thanks,
Siddharth.
If you double-click on the button in design view, it will generate the click event. or you can select the button, and then use the lightning bolt icon in the properties window to specify event handlers.C# <--->...
