Simple source control for Visual Studio 2005 / SQL Server Management Studio?
Hi Friends,I am developing a web app using Visual Studio 2005 and SQL 2005. I want source control but I don't want to purchase/install the Team Foundation -- it offers way too many functionalities I don't want. Is there a free tool that integrates with VS 2005 and SQL Server 2005 Management Studio, allowing me to perform source control easily? Thanks.
I don't know of any SourceControl that integrates with VS besides SourceSafe, but if you're looking for a free decent sourcemanagement solution I can advise WinCVS. It works pretty much like SourceSafe (checking files in and o...Visual Studio 2005 Edition Released! Is it the same as Visual Studio.Net 2005 ?

Yes. ".NET" part is not actually/officially part of the Visual Studio 2005 name.-- Mike PopeASP.NET User EducationThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
Is it Visual Studio .NET 2003 update version? Does Microsoft change its name?
I'm not sure I understand your question exactly -- I'm a little thrown by the word "update." Visual Studio 2005 is the new/current version, released on Monday. This product never officially had the word ".NET" in its nam...SQL Server 2005
I'm very confused. I installed Visual Studio 2005 and thought I understood that SQL Server 2005 came with it, but it appears that it's SQL Server 2005 - Express. Can anyone tell me what I need to do in order to get Data Transformation Services loaded or the equivalent of DTS in SQL Express?
I have to say: actually SQL Express, not SQL2005 full version, comes with VS2005. To manage your SQL Express databases much easier, you can download a Management Studio Express from here:
Then you can...Visual Studio 2005 vs. Visual Studio 2005 BETA 2
In terms of functionality and features, I was wondering whether there
any major differences between Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2005
From the C# Windows Apps & Web Apps - pecadillos more than anything. I have several sizeable projects in bothe.g. MDI child/parent Mensu/toolstrips no longer automergesome complaints about rafting property that no longer exists in Windows forms controlsIf it was easy, everybody would be doing it.
The primary difference was mainly a lot of bug fixes. Two areas that we enhanced were website projects and ...Visual Studio 2005 Express/Visual Studio 2005 Same Language Support
I know the Visual Studio 2005 is much better than it's Express edition, but can they produce the same results in the end? By that, I mean that you can use the exact same code in the Express edition and it will build the same as Visual Studio 2005, and the language support is the same (everything bit of code that works on VS 2005 will also work on VS 2005 Express)?VDesign
Yes, projects and files are fully interchangeable. Express editions lack some IDE/UI features, but code you write will work everywhere.Thanks------------------------------------------------------------This posting is...Visual studio 2005 standard and SQL Server management studio?
I am new to visual studio and I am still not sure of all its components and features.
I installed visual studio 2005 standard edition but cannot find SQL Server Management Studio?
I guess this must be because it is not included with Visual studio 2005 standard. Is it included with VS 2005 professional?
I want to add pictures of products to my shopping site using an SQL database and I’ve been told that SQL Server Management studio is required as it is a graphical tool.

I would like to know how to set SQL2000 as the default database server when running any webapplication. I have installed Visual Studio.NET and SQL Server 2000 locally in my laptop. But anytime I want to run a webapplication I am getting the following error:System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException was unhandled by user code Class=20 ErrorCode=-2146232060 LineNumber=0 Message="An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. Hi allIm not sure if you will be able to answer my question. Im using express version of visual basic, which has a particular pain in the you no where limitation. I cannot through the database explorer connect to a remote sql express 2005. I no this is a limitation. I have looked at the option of buying Visual studio however I only need the VB module. From what I see you have to buy the whole version, which contains C#, JSP and more. I do not need them. I do not see the point of paying for all the modules but I only use VB. QuestionsCan you buy them seperately. Is there another workaroun...SQL Server 2005 express connectivity with Visual Studio.NET 2005
I'm having a problem with the server connection and my C# code. The code executes alright but no data is entered into the database behind it. I'm pasting the connection code over here as well. The sql commands are used in the code. I think I used the sql server mobile edition which is installed along with visual studio.net 2005. Anyone know what's wrong, and can help me out?
