I'm currently developing using VS.net 2003, .net1.1. Due to development reasons i can't upgrade to vs2005 yet. However i want to upgrade to SQL Express 2005, but this needs .net 2.0. Will my VS.net 2003 still work if i install .net 2.0? Are there any known problems?

Hi,I'm developing a site using two seperate machines depending on my location. One has VS 2008. The other has VS 2005. Is there a way to get .NET 3.0 or 3.5 to work on on Visual Studio 2005. I was told .NET 3.5 won't work because it contains the Vista Modules, but I don't know about 3.0.
Visual Studio 2005 cannot use .Net Framework 3.5 as target framework.
In your case, we can install .Net Framework 3.0 redistributable package (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=10CC340B-F857-4A14-83F5-25634C3BF043&displaylang=en) wh...I installed .net 2.0 but there is .net 3.0 in the add or remove programs list as well, why

Hello. Is it possible to install Visual Studio 2003 on a system with Visual Studio 2005 already installed ? Can appear conflicts ? Thank's !
Yes you can install and run vs2003 and vs2005 side by side. There is very little or no side effects for running these two applications side by side. If you have any problems one of us here can help you.-Blake NiemyjskiBlog - Website: windowscoding.com

Will someone please offer some advice, a walkthrough, or something to help me through this? I installed all three of these pieces (.NET, SQL Server 2005 Express, and VS 2005 Professional) onto a WinXP box. I was unable to get it to work. It kept throwing SQL errors when I tried to run the security setup for the Personal Website Starter Kit. So, I uninstalled everything except .NET and reinstalled. At this point I was able to get to the setup, but unable to add users. It doesn't throw errors or anything, it just doesn't do anything.

IIS 6.0 working fine for .Net framework 1.1 and 2.0?
During the beta period, I had both VWD 2005 and VS .NET 2003 installed side-by-side and I didn't notice any problems. I've also installed .NET Frameworks 1.1 and 2.0 on IIS 6.0, also without any issues. So, 1 and 2 shouldn't give you any problems.

I haven't seen this anywhere, so I figured I would add it here. First of all, it is incorrect to recommend to anyone that who has VS.NET 2002 to do ANYTHING but first install VS.NET 2002. The installl order for VS.NET 2002 and .Net Framwork 1.1 SHOULD BE:
0. Install ALL windows updates for your pc EXCEPT FOR .NET Framwork 1.1
1. Install VS.NET 2002
2. Install MSDE that comes w/VS.NET 2002 (USE A NAMED INSTANCE! Never usee the default instance)
2. Install MDAC 2.8
3. Install .Net Framework 1.1
