I have ASP.NET project with only Debug build available. How can I switch between release and debug versions of the build?

In the default web project model for 2005, you can switch between debug and release in web.config. I have some details here: http://odetocode.com/Blogs/scott/archive/2005/11/15/2464.aspx

If you have only a web project, then nothing.

If you have other projects, like non-web projects, a web deployment project, or one of the new web application projects, then CM manager is selecting the active configuration to build.

Can't access Admin functions after Visual Studio "Copy Project" to host
I built a Visual Studio 2003 solution using the 0.95.2004.102 source distribution by adding existing projects for the Dottext.Common, Dottext.Framework, and DottextWeb. After using Visual Studio's "Copy Project" command to publish the code to my hosting provider things initially seemed to be working but the "Admin" link resulted in a “.Text - Application Error” details “The resource requested could not be found.” message. Turns out the Admin folder and a few other files weren't included in the DottextWeb project file and therefore hadn't been copied to the host. ...

"Don't tell me what I can't do!"
Twice now in the last week or so, I've run across suggestions to the effect of including syntax that forbids otherwise valid code from being used. First was during the discussion about coming up with a way to program by contract, where the poster suggested that a means of saying "any declaration of method 'm' that doesn't conform to this signature should be illegal"; the second was in a recent thread concerning roles where a poster commented that he'd like to be able to declare in role 'A' that anything composing it should be forbidden from compos...

If it ain't broke, don't "fix" it!
Name: Anon Product: Firefox Summary: If it ain't broke, don't "fix" it! Comments: Why is it that developers can't resist "improving" things to the point where a product is not as useful as the previous version? I expect that from Microsoft, because they have to try to sell us stuff, but Firefox is free. Keep it simple! I just installed v3 after happily using v1.5 for years and skipping v2 entirely. V1.5 was fine. It fulfilled my needs. But a site I wanted to use said it didn't support my browser, and the alternative was IE. OK, I now ha...
