Programmatically accessing someone else's Profile... how?

Hi all!

I'm trying to write a page wherein an Admin can go in and change various Profile properties for any other user. Trouble is,  I'm having a bear of a time figuring out how access another member's Profile in order to edit its properties.

Does ASP.net provide this feature within the Profile Provider framework? If so, how can I use it?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you have to access the profile by searching for it using the ProfileManager class.  Have a look here for s atart:

 http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.profile.profilemanager.aspx

ProfileBase profile = ProfileBase.Create(username)

profile.GetPropertyValue(....)

profile.SetPropertyValue(.....)

profile.Save()

Can I edit someone else's profile if I'm a System administrator?
Hi, I've building a registration page which will allow system admins to register users on a web site  (using ASP.NET 2 (C#))..  These users will then be provided with a default password with which they can logon on the system.  However this registration process will also capture other pieces of information which only the system admin should be able to change (such as job role, pay number etc).  I'm storing that information in each person's profile. My question is, how do I allow a system administrator to change someone else's profile.  If they logon to the sys...

How do you access someone else's Remote mailbox?
We're on GW 7.0.3 HP3, on Win XP SP3. We have a user who left the agency. She has a remote mailbox on her laptop. A user can access someone else's mailbox after abend of server
Has anyone seen the following condition occur before ? We had a situation this week, where a GroupWise server abended with the GWENN2 nlm. A user who was on this domain logged in whilst the server had an abend count of 2. Opened GroupWise and ended up logged into another users mailbox. Both users Object id's are the same, although they are both in separate domains. Also as company policy the security on the POAs is set to high. Neither user has ever set up proxy access to each others mailbox. We are running 5.5 EP and client 5.5.6.1. This has obvious concerns as...

Access to the ADO.net Managed Provider 'SqlClientFactory' was denied
In a previous post in Installation and Setup I was having problems just getting an ASP.NET 2.0 app to run on my web server. Now I'm having some different weird security issues. I'm getting this message when just trying to open a database and put its contents into a gridview. Access to the ADO.net Managed Provider 'SqlClientFactory' was denied in the data source with ID 'sqlEmployees' because of security settings. I think this may have to do with our web server and our SQL server being separate machines. That always gives us issues. But I have impersonation=true in my web.config along wit...

State Management; .Net Profiler
Here is the situation with the customized profiler. I got a profiler class called SSOProfileProvider inheriting from ProfileProvider. I've implemented the Initilization, GetPropertyValues and SetPropertyValues. The Get... and Set.. are making a call to the database to store profile into the database. This class has been stored in the separate DLL called "Security.DLL" and there is a web site that is using this dll. The web.Config for this website is as follow:<profile enabled="true" inherits="AppProfileBase" defaultProvider="SSO" automat...

idea: state $s; $s = 'initialS' once;
proposal: "once" keyword. Once would be valid as an expression terminator only. When an expression is terminated by 'once' the code tree is modified to remove the expression from the flow. (the previous op's next ptr is advanced, skipping the onced expression from then on.) The effect would be the same as '... unless ${"once::gate_".__LINE__}++;' but without the slight runtime penalty. This concept -- code stating that it should be optimized away -- might be better expressed as a function that can introspect the code tree and optimize a...

Managing CDM's and PDM's
Hi, We have been using PD Data Architect 6.10 ( with HOW - an OO modeling tool ), and we have been generating CDM's from the tool, and then creating the PDM's ... this has worked ok .. but now we are looking to upgrade to PD 8 ( as I have the trial software ). 1. Inorder to read in the CDM files that the HOW tool generates, I can not read them directly into PD 8 , but I have to read them into PD 6.1 first, save them, and then PD8 will read them without issues ... not that much of a big deal ( but if you know why this is ... let me know ) 2. As our datamodel is grow...

KDE's network manager won't connect but GNOME's will
Hi, I tried KDE for the first time a few days ago, after using GNOME for the 7 months I've been a linux user. I installed a fresh OpenSuSe 11.1 i586 KDE4.1 on my HP pavilion dv5035nr laptop. I found it beautiful. But I ran into trouble with the network manager. It wouldn't connect to my wireless network (even though it listed it). I tried it with my University's wireless network and it was able to connect (since the password verification for this is done using a web browser). This issue and a problem with the mp3 codecs as well as not being able to disable my touc...
