I am sure it has been asked before, but i can't find the answer anywhere in the forum... I developed an application with SQL 2005 and .Net 2005 and i wanted to know how (if it is possible) to use that database in the SQL Express 2005 (for small customers).
I have the database (tables, views and stored procedures) as it is done on the SQL 2005. If i will just attach the database in SQL Express 2005 it will work or should i do something else too?
Thanks a lot.
(Is it possible to install both SQL 2005 and SQL Express 2005 on the same PC? I already have SQL 2005 installed).

Is it necessary to convert my VS2003 project to VS2005 before converting the datasource from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005? Or can I just change the datasource without converting the project?
For the first question, the answer is no. Both SQL Server versions can work with Visual Studio 2003 and Visual Studio 2005.
For the second question, the answer is yes. Visual Studio 2003 can work with SQL Server 2005.

I created an SSIS package for a client that does data importing. When I run the pacakge from Visual Studio there is an error window showing all the errors and warnings. A good example of an error is if the import file is in the wrong format. When there is a error or warning can I write the error log to a file OR notify someone of the errors so they can make corrections and rerun the package OR any ideas that the client can find out what went wrong and then make corrections accordingly? Thanks

Hi. I developed an ASP.NET based website at work using MS SQL 2005 Developer Edition as the back-end. Now I have a friend who needs a website and I can basically use some of the same tables/SPs I used at work. My questions are: 1. Can I detach the DB from work and attach it to an MS SQL 2005 Express database?2. As the developer of the website, what do I have to do to distribute the web application? Being the express version of SQL, do I have to pay for licensing or things like that?Thank you.

I would like to restore a SQL Server 2005 database from a backup file. The problem is that the users which are using the site, prevent the restore operation from completing. So, I stop the sql server by right clicking the server name in management studio and selecting stop, wait for 3-4 minutes and restart it by clicking start. Then I can restore. So I am looking for code that can do these operations (including the wait). let me just add that I am using a named instance - and I want to stop and restart the instance.
Please help, thanks in advance.
